Personally I think it would be a bit counterproductive to go 100% public about what's being considered because it just starts people bothering you trying to push their own interests (been there done that for a lot of years now), however being more open than in the past is a necessity.

I agree.

There may be times when committee members may step out and ask ideas and input from the racing community, for informational purposes, but that would be it. I think there may be times when a feeling for certain things needs to be discovered but that would not be discussed in an open forum. Any discussion I would have with anyone would be held in strict confidence. Discussing rules publicly during deliberations would not be a good idea.
