tech requirements/'06 gixxer750

I've read the rulebook and it clearly states that gsxr's need aftermarket case covers on both sides.  However I know of several folks with '06 gsxrs that are running stock case covers and passing through tech. 

Can anyone advise me whether the tech folks are letting the gsxr case cover issue slide?  I'd like to go to VIR this weekend but I can't get case covers in time.  I don't want to waste a trip if I can't run.

Up until now in the midwest if you have frame sliders they will let you slide. Most companies have had back order issues until recently and the location of the sliders to the case covers is the best in years. I did have one tech official tell me that they were letting us slide until availability improved but if I crash and oil the track it`s a $500 fine!!

I just got mine from woodcraft. It took a long time, but from what I understand they are now caught up and have them in stock.
