I just replaced my front pads, only 50 thousants difference between new pads and old pads, changed because left caliper(standing in front of bike) was rubbing rotor. Cleaned calipers and slide pins but there is only about 30 thou clearance from the wear bar to the rotor on the left caliper? I can take the caliper off, looks and feels fine but when I put it back on I have to push the caliper slide in,  to line up on the rotor which moves the  wear bar against the rotor? checked all the clearances and everything looks the same on both sides but the right caliper has something like 200 thou or more clearance. Oh yea, I am supposed to race this weekend, that is why I need help fast.

Could your wheel spacers be on the wrong sides? I know some bikes are side specific????

Good luck...

First, that's your right caliper.
Did you open the bleed valve, before reinstalling?

hmmm could've fooled me...I've had mine in wrong...and it did exaclty what you are seeing...sets the wheel offset in the calipers - to tight on one side and lots of room on the other..took the wheel back off...switched them around and it fit right...

You must have captive spacers. Is the left side not where the speed sensor goes?

Your spacer on the pinch bolt side is not moving freely when you are tightening the axle.  This flexes the fork leg sideways towards the wheel.  Leave the axel tight, Loosen the pinch bolt on the fork leg.  Pull out the fork leg and see if that improves your clearance issue.  If so, investigate why your spacer is not moving freely.  I just had to clean mine and that problem went away.  Check for this issue every time you install the front wheel.

If your spacers have the speedometer drive removed you should have the short one in the speedometer drive side.
