Yamaha r6 wth could it be?

Im not a mechanical and today i was riding on my yamaha r6 2000 and my oil light pop up when my temp was around 50 and shut down at 70 and never light again and like 6 hour later the same shit happen when i started the bike!
and it,s pass 6 p.m so every shop is close!!
help me if u can !

My 2000 would do that from time to time.

From what I hear its nothing to worry about - just add a little oil. I'm told they all burn a little off.

Yamaha uses the oil light for oil level. Some YZF's sensors are real sensative to oil level even if its within acceptable levels.

Yep... I have a 99, and it did this as well.  They are actually an oil level sensor, not a pressure sensor.  But if you've ever had the oil pan off, you'll realize the oil level would need to be pretty low for it to come on due to there actually being low oil.  It's just higher than the oil pump strainer.

Assuming your oil is up to level... and it still comes on:  It's probably the connection under the gas tank... it's a cheep little connection.  Just wire in a new male/female spade connector, wrap it w/ tape and your good to go.  To find it, trace the wire from the sensor wich is at the bottom of the oil pan, it's a black wire (duh) that should come up on the left (as your sitting on the bike) side of the bike around the coolant overflow.  Then there is a little round connection at the top of the motor, near the starter.
