First of all a note to the Mods....I hope it isn't inappropriate to place a link to another site...if it is please let me know....

When the AZtrackday.com team was up at MMP for the R2SL event we experienced some strange tire wear... If you'd like to see the photos or add to the thread please do...the allstoneallthetime.com board has racers from a lot of places, and we'd appreciate any opinions on it.

 In your thread over yonder someone mentioned that you run race pressures, and check pressures after your sessions. There's too many variables to make any real comments beyond the fresh surface condition. So, questions;

a. What are the race pressures you ran?

b. What were the after session pressures?

c. Were warmers used?

d. What were the ambient and track temps.?

e. Who's running the course besides AMA?
    ( I don't see it on the SW or ASMA schedules.)

Super Dave

WERA is running an endurance race there.  But I did hear through the grape vine that there were tire wear issues there.  Can be a curing issue with the surface where it's not operating like it will in the future, etc.

Individual set up issues could be suspect also.

We ran the pressures in the tires that Dale Kiefer (Michelin rep) had us run...which I dont recall (I'm new to Michelin DOT's). But I do remember the pressure after getting off the track varied at 4 to 6 pounds. And Yes we used tire warmers.

As for who is running miller. There is a Wera National at the first of next month.

Dale's a good guy.  Should have good starting numbers for you to run.

Did you check your tire pressure gauge against his?  Need to make sure that your ruler is the same as his, especially when he's giving you a recommedation.

I was there testing confidential Slicks for Dale (notice...no pictures ;-). Dale was all over the tire pressure on and off the track. I ran those DOT's to see how they did at Miller. We are hearing reports from a couple of guys up at Miller that the track is starting to come in pretty well and most of the tire issues that we were having in the beginning are gone.

Gotta tell you guys....you are missing one hellva track. Imagine nice, flat, perfect pavement!!
