Hey Lexa - you posted something a long while back about how to clean our leathers so they don't turn into beef jerkey with knee pucks.

Was wondering if you could please post your advice again.  I recall something about filling up the bathtub and just loading em in (with or without the wife? ;-)) But I can't recall whether you recommended any cleaning products - Saddle Soap, maybe?  and/or leather conditioner after you take them out.  Thanks for any help - recommended brands appreciated!

Hi Tom,
        Yup, I can do that.
First you take out all the armor and the hump, you can wash the liner in the washer if it is removable. Then you fill up the tub with luke warm water and add about 1/2 to 1 cup of white vinegar (it neutralizes the salts), throw in suit and muck it around. Rinse with clean water 2 or 3 times, roll them up in some towels to wring out the water, and then give them about 2-3 days to dry. You can either use a good stout hanger, or  you can lay them out, but remember to turn them and expose anything that's still damp. You can aim a fan at 'em to help the drying process.
Once dry, you can hit it with any commercial leather conditioner, however, go easy on the seat area, or you might get a bit more "slideage" than you'd like.  :o
If your liner was not removable, you can stuff a few dryer sheets in the arms and legs after the suit is dry to give it a "fresher" smell.
Of course, the easy way out is to get them to me and I can have them sent out to be cleaned for $60.  ;) Either way will help you suit last longer.

Do or do not, there is no "try".

Thanks, Alexa, for the info - and the offer to do this.  I have time on my hands, so I think I'll give it a shot.
