Any diff in 'real' performance?
Gonna try Vesrah and the old standbys EBC-HH (Go easy K3, LOL ) , see which works better.

I've got an 06GSXR, heard horror stories about brake fade on the 04/05 bikes.

Any reccommendations on pads and especially fluid brand/type to avoid boiling and fading?

Do the ultra-thin braided lines help?  I would think less fluid means you would boil faster.  I dunno

PS: K3, thanks for the email!  Appreciated the words!

love EBC brakes, DOt 4 fluid, steel lines. I have heard some things about GSXR front brake issues though.

You should also try the SBS Dual Carbon pads, my 2005 GSXR1000 suffered from brake fade with the RJL race pads, i used the SBS-DC pads and as long as you bed them in right they are awesome!

I am very very picky with front brakes and i was surprised how good the DC pads were, good bite, amzing power and feel and no fade at all over a 16-18 lap session at a track with a lot of hard braking  8)  I bought one of the Lightech adjustable (from the left bar) brake levers and never even had to adjust it one click, I am thinking now i should haved saved my money  :(

Thanks for the input and advice, fellas!!!

I guess I will buy a set of SBS, Vesrah, and EBC and see which one works best for me.  Matt, do you stock the RJLR's, if not how much lead time do you need?

Matt or SD, what do you guys reccommend for brake fluid?  I am clueless of which brand/type is the best for racing applications.

Any thoughts on the super thin brake-lines?

One last thing, are case covers still needed to be legal for racing CCS on the new GSXR's.  Bike is an 06/1k.

Thanks

I've had the best luck with the basic, off-the-shelf Ford brake fluid.  550-deg boiling point.

I've heard good things about the Ford fluid.  I think Castrol LMA is the stuff to stay away from.

Super RJL's are good.  But I will be racing with DP Brakes for 2006.  We did endurance and sprint stuff with them in 2001, and we've renewed the relationship.

just make sure you bed the brakes in as per the instructions, the pads will coat the disc (a dark color) and you want to leave it that way, dont clean them!

if you dont get the bed in sheet let me know and i can get you in touch with the guy that gives it out.

I second the SBS DC. They have excellent initial bite and feel!

Clarkie, I've never seen the "bed-in" sheet. Do they come with the pads? You mind sharing the instructions? thx

Super Dave

Bed in is specific to manufacturers.  Some want eight to ten gentle stops from 50 MPH, others you just go hot lap them in.  Check the back what the pads come in under bed in procedure, etc...or call or talk to your race rep...
