Well.. there is practice for the GT races at 2:30. And there's morning practice on Sun.

CMP is not booked by anyone for the Friday. Did some investigation and we would need like 40 racers to make it reasonable to rent the track for the day. That would include cornerworkers and medical for the day.

I'm in for Friday... maybe someone would like to organize it?  I suck at those things or I would.

Good Morning!
1.  yes we have shower/restroom facilities
2.  yes food concessions/ice is available
3.  gates will open at 5pm Friday evening (gates will close at 10pm nightly)
4.  camping is allowed - electricity is available.  CMP does not charge individuals camping fees, we charge the clubs a flat rate, therefore if there is a camping fee, you will need to contact CCS.
Hope you have a safe trip, see you soon!

Kevin/CCS can you comment on the camping fees?

We are looking into it now just have to see what it would cost. Probabaly looking in the range of 150 to 200 per rider. We are going to need to get 30 or 40 riders to get the price down that far though.

QuoteCMP, like Roebling, has a history of low turnout (read in that it lost big money) and we waited to see if this season would change. It hasn't. (We have twice the pre-entires for Summit in May -and VIR in June- as CMP in April at this time.)

Thus we needed to give ourselves the opporunity to at least break even, so we needed to make the change to the Gingerman type of schedule. We now have a hope between street riders and racers who would enter extra practice that we can keep from losing the $10,000 like the last time we ran at CMP.

We're just trying to stay in business, not screw anybody. (As far as the 16 races, at three races per hour, our average, we still finish by 5:00pm.)

And adding practice will not mess with your class entries at all.

Thanks Y'all.
Do we have to preregister to do the track day?

Tried to call CCS today, I'm sure they are away for a race weekend somewhere.  I may have a sponsor for the track day.  However, before we set anything up we want to talk to kevin and crew, we don't want to rock the boat, if turn out is so low that they need a couple more bucks from running the track day on Saturday, I don't want to rock the boat and be banished to the back of the grid for the rest of the season..... ;D

If Kevin et al, don't have an issue with it we would need to get at least 30 people together that would mean 200 bucks a head (6K to rent the track with insurance, corner workers, ambulance, etc), however with only 30 people we would have to limit the sessions to one round of practice...
Of course that one session would be 8 hours long sort of a test and tune day with an open track.  If we get 40+ people we can refund the difference and create 2 groups.  May need a few volunteers to help with tech and registration, pit marshal etc.  But most importantly, get your buddies together and get ready to paypal quick if we get the interest we may be able to get the track, one thing working against us is time because CMP is trying to rent out the day.

Again, CCS is the boss and with the new management we all want to support them and not compete in any way with potential funds from all the racers.  Just a few of us are traveling 16 hours for the event and need to take 2 days vacation from work for the travel time and have never been to the track since it was not on the venue last year and after my display at Daytona could really use the extra practice to learn the track.

CCS

We have no problem with the track day set up on Friday, the only sticking point becomes clearing the paddock and then re-entry after everone comes out and signs our releases.

We will work with CMP on th camping fee...if it is what we expect, there will be no extra charge...we want to keep this simple as possible.
