New to the forum; Hello.  I've got a Buell xb9R and I have been to race school (Frank Kinsey).    My bike is essentially stock.  What  classes could I race in?  What modifications would I be required to have to race (strip lights...? Belly pan?)? I really just want to be able to line up and get some laps and track time in race conditions to see what it's like.  Thanks for the help.  I used the search function but did not come up with much info.

Lightwieght and twins classes will be open to you. If you're 40 or older, then Lightweight F-40...Good luck!

Welcome!

Check with Buell_391 on the board.  He has great ideas on how not to install a bellypan on a Buell!  That is unless it wouldn't bother you if it kept falling off a couple of times a day!   ;D

If your motor is stock and you're running the stock airbox, your most competitive class will be Lightweight Supersport. Buell pays contingency for the Thunderbike class every CCS weekend (Expert and Am). Supertwins for expert only. Sign up for Buell contingency here http://www.buell.com/en_us/mania/racing/racingsupport.asp

You can also run LW Superbike, LW GrandPrix and GT Lights. If you're 40, you can run Lightweight Formula 40.

Read the CCS rulebook for details on race prep. Basically strip lights, mirrors, sidestand. Safety wire drain plugs and bolts that hold back oil. Get a belly pan. Apply numbers. Go racing and have fun.

Contact Buell Racing Manager Henry Duga for a belly pan. Email him at henry.duga@buell.com

You'll need to order the part through your local Buell dealer, but Henry can get the ball rolling.
