QuoteEd's Orgasmatron has GSXR forks! It's the Supersport bike that has stock fork externals.

I'm talking about his supersport bike. ;D

I've got one of Zoran's bearings and I'm planning on doing the GSXR swap this weekend (assuming my forks show up in time).

The bearing is a roller bearing, not loose balls which is nice, it's great quality and is only $55 shipped.

The down side is you have to file some material off the top of the neck of the bike.  I don't know how much yet as I haven't installed it yet.

I wasn't talking to you  :P  ;D I was talking to Jason...

Installed the bearing last night. Piece of cake! :)

Ed Key = 130 lbs  and 30+ years experience
Ed Key Supersport bike 283lbs and 72+hp

Dan Kane 185 lbs  1.5 years experience
Bike 335 lbs and 81hp

Not really a good comparison Jason.  Besides my 3g's was spent on all new parts, including Brembo radial master and rotors.  Ed even said he was impressed with it, and Kevin was all smiles when he got off of it.   ;)

My point is that track time (ie experience) is much cheaper and can do more than adding parts that will do nothing for your lap time. Can you honestly tell me that you can only do 17's with those "new" parts? And if you had a stock front end on your bike you would have been slower? If that is the case you have way more to learn than I thought. If you learn to take what you have to the limit, or at least what others in your area are doing. I did not use only Ed as a comparison. Look at what Ryan did to you all season long on a stock front end bike, with a GSXR rear shock and 75hp. He has no more experience than you. I am not trying to attack you personally, it's just you happened to write to this thread so i used you as an example. I get p1ssed when people throw money at a bike they have not learned to ride to it's potential and think that they are now going to light the world on fire of feel they can now start talking sh1t. Taking a race school, going to every practice day, or  learning about how to "properly" set up a chassis and suspension, is way cheaper, and will result in quicker more gratifying track times, than any front end or motor work will ever do.  :-*

Does Ed's SS bike really weight that little?  :o

I remember it was 298 at Road America 2 years ago. I don't know how in the hell he could make it lighter than that, but rumor is that he has...

Oh, and it makes more than 72 hp. I believe it was somewhere around 80.

Edgar.. he uses a different bike for LWGP correct?

I think he's used both. My bike weighs 365lbs. and makes 65 HP (Factory dyno)

This swap has alot more to do with convience than performance. Setting up a stock SV front end is a pain.

As for me, this is not a normal thing for me. I am the king of riding it the way it is. I ran a 100% stock GSXR600 for 2 years. Everybody said I was stupid for not upgrading the suspension. Guess what? I had a blast and won a couple of championships to boot. Can't argue with that. ;)

While I'm upgrading my forks I also need to repair my Carb cables. Anyone know where to buy Kiehn flatslide cables?

Directly from Sudco. I have gotten some from them before:
