The lathe idea is out. You would have to re-thread the shaft for the smaller SV lock nut. I think the bearing and race is the way to go. $55.

You'll laugh at my front wheel for this set up. It's off of a 99 TL1000. Rotor and bearing surfaces machined to the same dimensions as a 2001 GSXR600. Hey, I had it laying around from my Gixxer days. (Back when I could finish ahead of Don) ;D

Kevin, you should just buy a real race bike!  ;D ;D

Go get a R6 or Gixxer 600 and come play with the rest of us...

Peter at GMD Computrac in Boston makes a custom aluminum stem for the gsxr lower clamp that fits stock SV bearings.  For $175 he will press out the old one and press in the new one.

Oh yeah, I forgot. You can press off the SV stem make it bigger and press it into the GSXR tripple.

You can find a lot more info at www.svrider.com

Kevin-we used an SRAD front end, that why Greg said it was a pretty easy swap.

I hope the new forks keep you in front of me this year ;D

I'm going with the 2001-03 600 front end. I just want some adjustability. I'm too lazy to take the front apart everytime I need to change settings. As far as keeping ahead of you, not important. Keeping away from the 100 mph backflipping crash from hell, very important! ;D

Gateway. MWGP. Your R6, my SV. It's on!

Quit wasting your time!!!! Look at what Ed is doing with stock forks, can you match those times, how about when Janisch rode a stock fork SV? Ok the answer is NO. Like Mr. Kane we can all go out and waste $3000 and put a fancy front end on our bikes and run around bhf and do 17's. And Ed will still happily smack you on the A$$ when he goes by.
Why do you think the stock front is holding you back? I can name 6 people that can put a stock front end SV into the LOW 16/ high 15's on a stock front end :Ed, Janich,Kevin Van Egan, Doenut, Junge and Myself{when I wasn't fat and out of shape}
For all of the time and money spent saved by not putting a GSXR front end on you could go to an Advanced race school like...oh I don't know ....um..LEARNING CURVES, or maybe  the clinic that Ed put on at MADISON MOTORCYCLE PERFORMANCE (had more info than you could gather with everyone on this forum combined..ok except Tommy G, but your never gonna get those even if you tickle him).
I think I'm done here!

Gixxer124

$3000.00? You don't know me very well. I'll have about $550.00 in it when I'm done. No more taking the forks off to change rebound and compression.  :P

Gixxer124

Oh, and what I would give to run 17's at BHF!

Gixxer124

And another thing. Using Ed Key for an example? That bike has got so much money and time invested in it..........well you just can't compare it to anything else. OK, I think I'm done.

Ed's Orgasmatron has GSXR forks! It's the Supersport bike that has stock fork externals.
