Super Dave

Did you replace the Fuel Pump Relay?

Is there fuel in the tank?

Is the fuel pump good?

Do you have a wiring diagram?

Are you (or someone you know) capable of deciphering it?

If you answer yes to both the above questions, work through the diagram and find the problem.

If you did not answer yes to both, I strongly suggest you get a diagram and learn how to read it. It can be very useful to be able to trouble shoot electrical problems. It is generally not very complicated, but can take a bit of time. A decent mullti-meter helps (measures voltage, resistance, etc).

Common problems : pump, pump relay, tip over switch.

Brian is on the right track.  Check your on/off switch. a litte more info would help. What has all been done to the bike? Do you have the ign switch still on it?

the relay is new and the pump is new and work when i put power to it. new wirring harness i do have a diagram and  i have gone therw the wireing and found on  the two sets of wires that come down off the tach they have a  short  but didnt think that would make it not start. and the ign is still on it

Check to see if you have power to the plug where the head light goes. If you don't it may mean you have a short in the starter switch. You know when you press the starter button and the light turns off (and the pump will not run). Actually your best bet would be to follow the wiring diagram backwards from the pump and see where you finally have power. if you don't have a test light one can easily be made by soldering two wires to a taillight bulb (1147 or similiar) and test the wires for power to see where the problem starts. If you have power going to the pump, then the pump is bad. If you keep working in progression like that you should be able to track it down.

2 of the most common things that will cause this are:

1.  bank angle sensor.  If you removed it (knowingly or unknowingly) the fuel pump will not kick on.  If I recall correctly, on the F4i, like the RR, it is between the headlight and the front fairing, so if you pull off the fairing and do not remove the headlight to reveal the BAS, you will never see it and will have this problem.

2.  If you have tried to hotwire the key ignition, you likely missed the 3.7v zener diode which pulses out the pink line to the ignition (security feature).  In the most current versions of the 600rr (05+), they do not have this and it's a straight hotwire, but in all previous years and to my knowledge, STILL on the F4i, you will run into this diode.

Feel free to email me if you have further questions.  I've repeatedly been through every inch of honda 600's from 99 through present...
