QuoteWhat did you sell him?  I think you should describe it in detail and someone on the forum who lives near Canoga Park, CA should go have a chitty-chat with him.  That kind of sh1t really torks me.  A guy in CA - 'The Parts Guy' skinned me out of about $100.00.  When I finally got out there, every lead I had on him turned up a dead end.  I was dieing to go into his shop & raise some hell.  I was out of business.

I sold him some Dunlop take offs- UK made 208 GP-As. I got our money back so no trips to California today. If someone in Canoga could happen to find that residence? It's probably a fake with a forwarding addy.

Lots of us have epay scam stories. I'd rather share the stories and enlighten some folks on the angles used by the scammers. Now, a day trip to a Detroit suburb to visit CC Dan and his ebay scam central... :o :o :o

ive never been a seller on ebay yet, but i have bought around 50 some items. i dont like pay pal myself and if i can i use a postal money order.

1. when they cash it i can track it to when and where and get a copy of it.
2.if they dont send the item because its a postal money order, its now mail fraud if they cash it and dont send the item. ill have to digg it up but its on the postal site all of this info. ive only had to threatn one guy about going after him for mail fraud. i sent him a link to the postal site where it said all of this and i told him he had 3 days to have the part on my door step. guess what he used next day air and suddenly i had the part.

he claimed he hadnt gotten any think from me i said bs the post office has tracked that money order and you cashed it on this day at this location.

still sometimes some people wont take anything but pay pal so i have to use it there.

Thats all I'll use or accept on flea-bay. The postmaster at every post office takes mail fraud very seriously. SOmetimes they do a better job finding teh crook than the local PD does.

Canceled my pay pal account two years ago because someone accessed my "secure" account and started pulling money direct from my bank account! I caught it right away while they were still testing the system with small amounts. I got the money back from the bank and closed the pay joke account right away.  I will never have a pay joke account again. They are not secure.

Thanks for the comment Gordon. I am in the middle of a different transaction per PayPal; seller said product I won is unavailable. However, I somehow paid for the transaction with PayPal, TWICE. Paying for the same auction twice with PayPal is impossible for me to do. I beleive they were testing the system as you call it.

Back to swap meets and word of mouth by (gulp) the telephone!!? Ahhh, the good old days swap and  cash.   ;D What a relief...
