 Here is a scammer from E Bay;

        Moises Bazan
        20035 VanOwen St.
Canoga Park, CA       EBay ID: moytoys

His angle works like this. Purchases from you and pays through PayPal. He will then claim you never shipped auction item, fills out PayPal complaint full of lies, and then PayPal automatically pulls payment OUT of YOUR account. The burden of proof is on the seller. If you mail your "item sold" without Tracking or signature verification you are literally screwed out of your product and the money received for it.

Seems PayPal is REALLY fast to take the words of buyers as truth. This guy claims he e-mailed me ..."at least six times." I had never heard a peep from the guy. He buys A LOT of motorcycle parts. SELLER BEWARE with this guy.

Now, back to the regularly scheduled classifieds buy/sell format... :)

One reason I wont use paypal.

Did you report this to flea-bay? How about his local police? It is fraud.

Did you ship UPS? All UPS shipments have a tracking number.

I've never had problems with PayPal .. and I use it for both buying & selling (on eBay and off).  You just gotta be careful.  Read the comments about users before you complete any transaction.

I shipped FedEx who also use tracking #s. The dispute was settled through PayPal when my tracking numbers revealed the package to have been delivered BEFORE he filed the complaint. We got our $120 back from PayPal. However, had I not had a tracking # this scumbag was going to get to keep the tires and his money!?

I have heard of lots of people who stopped using PayPal for just this reason, but I did not know the details of the angle used by those looking to defraud me of said Dunlops. (Just thought I'd share the angle of the dangle to keep some smart money in everybodies pockets.)

Todd, a couple years ago some guy lost THOUSANDS in a transaction just like this. Paypal immediately took whatever funds he had in his account. THey effectively cleaned his checking account out and he ended up bouncing cheques. After fighting with them they finally agreed he was the victim and not the other guy. Still he was out the money. ALso see the shear number of complaints AGAINST paypal is pretty disturbing. I dont know if www.paypalsucks.com is still going, but theres some doozies there.

What did you sell him?  I think you should describe it in detail and someone on the forum who lives near Canoga Park, CA should go have a chitty-chat with him.  That kind of sh1t really torks me.  A guy in CA - 'The Parts Guy' skinned me out of about $100.00.  When I finally got out there, every lead I had on him turned up a dead end.  I was dieing to go into his shop & raise some hell.  I was out of business.

Man I wish I could type - IT was out of business (his shop).

PaulV

Hey Charile,

hope all is well,
Now let me get this straight, you flew out to CA to find this dude?

Man,
Hope I never piss you off dude :)

Sorry to hear you got screwed too, I have a few epay stories, I think most of us bike folks do.

any credit card company could do this to you, the burden of proof is always on the seller, always CYA cover your a$$, if you are the buyer, always use a cc, if you are the seller, save all documentation, use anything but regular mail, almort everything else is trackable, dont ask me how i know,
always ship to the cc adress, or the verified address too

Hey Paul - All is good.  Hope the same for you.  No - I was in CA for work.  That's why it took me three years & why he was already long gone.  But I had saved all the info & been planning.  Stll have it just in case.
I was just on your site looking at the Daytona pictures.  Now I'm depressed (cause I wasn't there).  Do you have pix from the banquette?  I'm having racing withdrawals big time.

PaulV

Charlie,
if you have never been on Daytona, you have to go.
EVERY MOTORCYCLE TRACK RIDER/RACER ABSOLUTELY HAS TO RIDE DAYTONA AT LEAST ONCE!!!!!
Until you go out for your 1st lap, maybe like an F40 dude I know, cruising at 8 Grand in 3rd gear and get up on the bank and realize, "SHEATTT, I'm not carrying enough speed to stay up on the bank.......
you just have to do it.

I do have a few banquet pics, unfortunetly, most didn't turn out but I'll try and post a link.
Jones'n big time with ya
