Well after the thread about settings spreadsheets, I decided to go ahead and start working on a PocketPC application that would allow you to track these items and save them digitally. Here are some screen shots, and when I complete it it will be free for download.

Go ahead and post any thoughts or ideas you have, I can't say they will or won't make it into the final version but it will at least give me some more ideas.

One thing I already plan on changing is the lap times, will simply be a timer and you will click a button to mark a lap which will automatically fill in the lap time field for you. The first screen will have a list of saved settings you have created. Also the tracks, tires and any other drop downs will be editable via the * button next to the dropdown to create a new one.

That looks awesome!  Nice job so far!

Just out of curiosity, are you doing this in .NET?

Maybe the ability to import the laptimes from a file?

What about high and low speed settings for the shock/forks?

Great Job;   will you have a windows CE version?

It is being done in .Net so that kind of answers the CE question as well. If the CE device can support the compact framework then it would run on that as well. If you give me the info on the device I could probably answer that question better.

As far as importing laptimes, this would be a way to capture data from the sideline, when the time comes to do the desktop counterpart, there might be room there to import that data to combine it with the settings for that same date. Definitely something to keep in mind.

So, where you enter the event information.... is all the info on each tab associated to that one event?  I assume an event is something like ULGP, MWSS...

lbk

The Event Information would be like "Practice1" the settings that you are running would only apply for "Practice1" for that track, and that date. Then if you change the settings, you would do a new result for "Practice2" this way at a later date, you can compare lap times associated with a specific setting at a track, with given conditions, to hopefully chose a better setup the next time, or run the best setup you have history for in those same conditions.

Maybe a compound box on the tire screen so you can list which tire (i.e. Soft, Med, Hard)?

That's awesome.  Hopefully, it'll work on a Cassiopeia E-100 w/Win CE.

I like the combo box idea for compound, I'm going to add that to the tires screen.

As far as the Casiopea, it's borderline since that is CE 2.11 but I will post a link to a .CAB and if that installs then the final application will run on that device. You will need a Compact Flash card or something though to store the files on.

Actually download this file and see if it installs. This is needed for the application to run, if this installs succesfully then you should be ok for the final app.l
