There is a wealth of knowledge on this board in several different areas of expertise so I thought I would try and tap into it....

We are installing new windows, foam insulation on the outside walls and insulated vinyl siding.

Any helpful hints?  Anything you should do or not do?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, do not use spray foam insulation around the window frames. It can warp the frames and give you big troubles.

Most expanding foam insulation voids all window manufacturers warranties, some non expanding foams will work, but why take that chance. Use what your window maker suggests.
Maybe a house wrap like tyvek or dow might be a good idea in your climate as well.
