I've been going through some rough times lately.  There's just a bunch of stuff on my mind, and it's wearing me out!  Besides that, I've been working SICK overtime, and I guess I was just starting to feel pretty abused.  So today I went SHOPPING!
For years, I've wanted one of those Joe Rocket GSXR jackets.  I don't street ride, so the only real reason for me wanting one is because they're just so damn pretty!  Thing is, even the textile version costs $200.  Well, I KNEW the local bike shop had one in my size, because I'd only tried it on like a hundred times.  Then the shop sent me a 2 day only, 50% off for Christmas sales flyer in the mail.  Well, for a hundo, I couldn't leave the thing there!
What a mob scene I found when I got to the shop.  There were at least 40 people in there this evening, buying everything that wasn't nailed down!  You could hardly move in the showroom!  I came walking through the door, and my buddy who works there just grinned and reached for the pole to take the jacket down from the display.  He'd actually hidden it behind a bunch of ugly jackets, just sure as hell I'd be in to get it and not wanting someone else to have bought it already.  What could I say?  He had me cold! :-[
Gawd, I feel like a chick!  Buying something totally impractical, just because I want it and it would cheer me up.  Well, it really DID cheer me up!  What's next?  Will I find myself buying designer shoes with stiletto heels like Sara Jessica Parker?  Eeeeek! :o
So I get home with the jacket, and I figure my wife is going to throw a hissy fit.  Instead she says, "Congratulations.  it only took 42 years, but you've finally learned that sometimes you just have to buy something because you want it.  Not everything has to be justified to the last nickel, Mr Obsessive Compulsive!"
"Well," she continued.  "Since you're already in the best mood I've seen you in for weeks, you might as well open this."  Then she handed me a Christmas card.  Inside was a gift certificate from Lithium Motorsports!  I love that girl....
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

That there's a good woman.   ;)

I'm glad you got the jacket.  You'll look much better in it than in Jessica Parker's stiletto heels.

Wasn't quite sure what this was so I did a search.

Uh, yeah.  Think I'll go cut down a tree or engage in some other manly chore to pay penance for having even gone to that sight....
Next time Alexa, you should put "Not man safe" in the header when you start talking about stuff like that! :o

K3, you have to admit...you didn't expect our "gift certificates" to be so cool. You are among the first recipients of our new version. We are all technological around here now!

Hell, I didn't expect one at all!  When asked what I wanted, I said, "Well, what I REALLY want is a gift certificate from Lithium Motorsports, but that's not a fun gift to give, so nobody will want to get me that."  Much to my surprise, Laura was LISTENING at the time.... Man, she really thought you might have told me it was coming.  Apparently, the look of shock on my face was so believable that she thought I was acting!
