brake pad changing intervals?

Was wondering what (if any particular) kind of intervals to change the front pads.  Or is it solely based on wear down?

I've only had the rs250 on for 4 track days last year... (beg & int group) should I change them before my first race in April?

Buy a spare set... put them in your spares box. When the pads you have get really thin, replace them :)
