Highside Hal on the mend…

So I have this pit beeyatch many of you know, he made it to every event this season with the exception of the first Autobahn.    He missed Autobahn because two weeks earlier at Heartland Park, he thought it would be cool to soak up sooooo much sun that he poisoned himself to the point of his eyes swelling shut.  He looked a lot like the elephant man.  Never seen that before but it was simply brilliant.   Other's may know him as the "winner" of the not-so coveted Blackhawk Baton, but we can save those details for another thread.  Highside Hal's his name.   And that's a name he's had to earn.  In the last year or so he's had three world-class dismounts on the street with the last one occurring just last weekend.  This last display of throttle control had quite a bit in common with the second one.  In both launches he smoked the right side of his bike.  Same parts were smoked.  In both launches he jacked up his left hand causing permanent damage to the same two fingers.  In both launches he broke his left collarbone.  But the kicker??  For both of these flight lessons, he was wearing his "lucky" Team  Stumpy Racing Honda Pit Shirt that he was given at last year's Team Stumpy year end party.   Does the shirt have anything to do with these?  Is this just coincidence??  Did Stumpy curse the shirt?  You'll just have to tune in for the next episode of Highside Hal to find out.  Heal-up soon, Highside, heal-up.

Luckily he had on the shirt or things would have been a lot worse!  The shirt is his savior!!

Poor Hal.  It was love at first sight with that shirt.

Gygax, At least ol' Highside waited until after the season was over to dump the throttle and you're right about the miami heat although he did the same thing at the Team Stimpy Party.  Speaking of which, has anybody seen him lately???  I need a shorter leash...

Damn! hey Jonny, maybe the baton can help him heal! One thing about Hal, when he screws up, he really screws up in style!

Ya I hear you, Edgar.  He doesn't half-azz any of his screw-ups.  He's got his white plates in that dept.  I don't think even the baton will be able to help this one out.  Good thing he still has one good hand to hang on to that thing with  :)

This Baton that you speak of....  it must be a very prestigious award and VERY difficult to earn.

The baton is one of the more prestigious awards around. So far, only members of the "Rostrum Racing" crew have had the honor of be the holders of the baton. They tried to pass it on to Danny Ortega, but misteriously, he declined...  ;D ;D

Rick, while it may be true that talk of the baton and it's appeal increase after many many beers, there is no data to support that it is a prestigious award or difficult to earn.  There was, however, a trend developing that showed the faster you were on the track, the more likely you were to become a baton holder.  However Ol' Highside stepped-up and broke the odds.  How does he do it??  That man should wear a cape...

With fingers like that it Hal will probably be relegated to just giving the right handed shocker from now on. But somehow I'm sure he will manage just fine...  ;D
