     I would be really careful about bragging about this stuff too much on the net, over on the SBN site some guys actually got tickets after the fact just from the video evidence. Make sure you blur out any plates and not say who the rider was, an ounce of prevention could be well worth the pound of cure it could provide here!

Thanks Mike I hear ya...That's why I started roadracing cuz I always get into too much trouble on the street.... ;)

The only way they can write a ticket using video, is if the clips contain/marked w/ 1) date 2) time.  W/out these two things watermarked on the clip, they cannot give ticket.

Also, even if you do have date/time on there....the tape would have to fall into the hands of law-enforrcment for that particular stretch of road/county....and then they would have to prove it was you underneath that helmet.  It's almost impossible, so it is rarely pursued, unless you are a local troublemaker, and the local cops are out to get you.

     I agree that the chances of this happening to any particular person are low, but the guys that got busted thought they would never be caught either.

     As you mentioned about what would be required, they bragged about where they were doing it, had the date/time stamp turned on, and they passed several identifiable landmarks and major road signs. The nail in the coffin was when the chase bike that was filming them kept filming after they finished doing stunts and pulled over and took off their helmets. I saw those clips before they got busted, after that they removed them (they actually got a lesser fine by voluntarily removing the video, the Judge said he didn't want this type of illegal activity being promoted). The guys that got busted said that they were told by the local Police that they were tipped off by an Officer from across the country who had seen the clips himself on SBN. That Officer said that the Police in his State had recieved memo's about checking for this very type of bragging on motorcycling stunting websites and reporting any violations that seemed persuable, even if out of their jurisdiction. There are quite a few Officers that are members of SBN as it is, that probably greatly increased their risk of being caught, that Officer apparently didn't like those guys (they were bragging pretty bad before getting busted).

     Again, I was just offering a little freindly preventative advice. Most likely it wouldn't happen to him personally, but it's better to be safe than sorry. :)
