Friday track day/racer practice was fun!  Got to work with "super" Dave Rosno for the majority of the afternoon.  Got alot out of it... more than I tought.  he really makes you think about what the bike is doing and how to fix it!  Had an "Oh Shit" moment early in practice... came out of the decreasing radius T-3 hard on the gas and ran a bit wide, saw the candy stripes and thought "I'll just square it up off of those"... apparently they are NOT rumble strips... they are just painted concrete... and SLICK!!!  Note to self, tighten the line outta 3 for better drive into 4... avoid red and white stripped curbing.  The rest of the day was uneventful with Dave working alot on my front end and a bit on the shock!  Progess all day long!

Got lap times consistently lower and REALLY worked hard on braking!  Felt good, felt fast, felt smooth, ready for Saturday!

1st Race.. Unlimited Superbike!  Smaller grids than the MW/HW classes by far.  Never run in the unlimited class, not sure what to expect!  Was gridded in the back and got a good launch passing 3-4 bikes right off the bat!  Clipped off a few more in the first lap then kinda settled in behind a 1k something errather (looked like a kaw but I think I saw R1 stickers on it??)  Was able to get passed him around lap 4 and set sights on Mike Simone (he worked with SD as well).  I was SLOWLY realing him in but DAMN... his HP on the straights quickly negated any work on the infield that I had done.  Seemed to be getting a little closer on every lap, but to no avail!  I thought I was top 5 but not sure as Ex/Am where combined in 1 wave... see Mike pumping his fists... maybe I finished higher than I thought?  Come in the pits... talk to Mike, confirmed!!  FIRST PODIUM, 2nd place it is!!  WOOHOO!!

next race MWGP!!  Get a poor launch and am running 8th going into T-1.  Am pretty aggressive on the brakes going into 5 and 6 and pick off a few more bikes.  I am running a solid 5th or 6th and am feeling strong!! Lap times are tempting to break into the 39's...This could be a good finish, lap 4 (or was it 3?) I am gaining on the next rider coming out of the carousel, pick up more time braking into 6 and close the gap heading into 7... quick down shift, trail brake, ready to shift back left outta the chicane... maybe I can get a drive and come up the inside of the last few turns like I did in practice... BANG!!!! (explative)  Lost the front end and am on my a$$... hit the dirt (turns out it really was soft haha) skygroundskygroundWHACKskygroundskyground........ damn...   limp to the corner station, I am fine, leg just outside the shin is sore, and I know I bonked my noggin pretty good... other than than I am fine.  Bike has a broken right bar, ground down peg and frame slider, missing a spool... pretty minor!

Back in the pits Randy jumps in to assist my less than mechanically gifted self and in no time has my clipons and bars on.  harvey took a big ass hammer to my hanger and reworked my exhaust into a more desireable location... ready for MWSS race!

The rest of the weekend went kinda the same... gridded up front, sissy on the launch, sissy on the breaking right handers... which is most of them.  Ran solid 42-43 range still not feeling it, than on sunday cracked into the low 41's.. almost back up to speed.  I was still a little fuzzy sunday afternoon and ditched my last 2 races so as not to have to buy more rubber, lingering headaches sunday evening and as stiff leg... I feel fine today!

On a weird note, I go to check results and grab my wood for Unlimited SB race and by golly I am nowhere to be found???  Check with the folks in the registration trailer, they direct me to the tower/scoring.  Come to find out I am placed "officially' as WINNING the supertwins race!?!?!?  Tiffany assures me that all will be handled for points and contingency (I think she fixed it while I was there).  Well... since noone protested a Yamaha R6 winning supertwins I grabbed the plaque (btw if you know who actually won it I will be more than happy to mail it)  YeeHaw my first wood spoiled by scoring snafu, oh well. If unclaimed maybe I can just tape over the Supertwins and First place and correct the info?

Rollercoaster weekend, glad I got that first spill outta the way!

Anyway, thank to SD for the knowledge, and Deuser, Sp00ner, Moses and Simone it was great working with you guys with Dave.

take care all, see you at Barber!!

Well, if it was scored wrong, then Greg Langman (G-Reg here on the forum) should have won it...

 :D  ;D

Its easy to see how they screwed up, they just did some simple math and lost a letter.  RC51, they dropped the C, added the 5 and the 1 together to get the 6 and boom, you've got an R6.   ;)

Maybe they had a new guy doing the scoring who was big into harleys, and instead of putting honda or yamaha he just put "jap bike" for everything?   :D

but sadly no, its not mine.. I didn't get there until sunday..   :-X
