Learned that the guys grew a few inches taller after high school...

The 'popular' crowd still drinks too much...

With the stories and trivia being told about our time at FVL, I was wondering if I ever attended that same high school (I was more interested in horses and cars than anything really in high school)...

I believe that if Paul wasn't with me, I would have had someone to keep me company through the evening....   :o

.... and  .....

My life has been more interesting than anyone else's there.  It was all.....

Well, we live here, and work here, and have X number of children ages......

So I ask, 'What do you do for fun?'

None of them really had a good answer....

Will I go to my 25th reunion.  Probably not.

My 20th is this October.
I kept in touch with the people I cared about after I left......Do I really want to see the rest?
I dunno.

(Heck, they probably don't want to see me!!)

My class was so lame that they couldn't wait for our 10th so they had the reunion at 8 years.  ::)

That was a long time ago.  My 20th should have been last year but I never heard anything.  I live in AZ now and was born and raised in CT.  Maybe they couldn't find me.  :-/  I don't know why, I work for the U.S. Government.

I heard ('cuz I didn't go) that at my 8 year  ::) reunion it was all of the same "popular" crowd drinking too much and talking trash just like it had always been.  I'm from a decent size town (40,000) with a very smalltown mentallity.  I'm sure nothing has really changed for them in the last 12 years.

I don't think I missed a thing.

If I didn't go then I would have always wondered if I missed anything.  Now I know I didn't....

Okay so I'm a few years behind you, Dawn (my 10th is this October) - but everything you're describing about your 20th is exactly how I'm imagining my 10th.  I just got my invitation the other day - and I seriously could've guessed about 95% of the people who are on the reunion committee.  There's 10 of them, and at 8 of them are the old "popular kids".  I've randomly bumped into some of them over the last 10 years, and time has definitely not been kind.  My guess is that reunions are for those who need to relive their glory days.  I always remember teachers telling us, "These will be the best years of your life!"  LOL.  Not mine.  I wasn't "into" HS at all... it was just a day job for me.  My life was outside, being pretty involved in Motocross racing by my sophomore year.  99% of my friends were 30+ miles away, and I pretty much lost touch with all of my HS friends after graduation day.  HS reunion?  No thanks.

I would have sent a proxy.  It would have been cheaper to pay someone than sit through the agony and try to remember why you showed up.

All the reunions I care about are held at racetracks! ;)
Seriously, the only guy I want to see from High School is still one of my best friends.  The rest of them weren't interesting then, so why would they be interesting now? ???
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Hmmm...my next would be the 40th in 4 years. I haven't been to one yet so there's really no sense in starting now.

Also I stay in touch with my good friends from high school, the rest are long forgotten.

I learned one thing from my class reunions.....

- 10 yr - everybody out to impress everybody else with how important they are now as they climb the career ladder.   The kid you knew from shop class is driving a brand new Mercedes 450SL.  Did he steal it or is he really making more money than anybody else from class - even the ones who are doctors and lawyers? The world is ours to conquer!

- 20 yr - who's divorced, done time for tax evasion, who has grandkids already. Reality begins to set in.

- 30 yr - Reality is firmly in place. If we havn't conquered the world by now - it ain't gonna happen!
Yes it's true, Sally is a great-grandmother! Bill's on his 3rd  wife - and he did marry the 1st one again after divorcing the 2nd one and then divorced the 1st one again after 1 year!  Yes, I actually did have 2 women that I didn't recognize, come up to me to read my nametag, look at my bald head then my extended waist line and begin laughing hysterically!

So reunions do change over the years.... but maybe that was just my class :)
