Anyone know an easy way to make a gas dump for my R1's gas tank ?  Cant leave this U4 in the tank all the time, and I dont like my current method of disconnecting the supply line off my fuel pump, replacing that with a clear hose that runs into my gas can, then cycling the key on and off, pumping the gas out of the pump

Simple.  Buy a siphon.  I got a simple squeeze ball one for about $4 at Advance Auto.

Not exactly the answer I was looing for...

I want to rig up a hose at the bottom of the tank where I just twist the valve and the gas dumps out.

Not sure what the R1 is like, but on newer FI Hondas, the fuel pump is in the tank, and fuel will not drain unless the pump 'pumps' it out.

You could rig a switch that continuously runs the fuel pump (power straight from battery to switch to pump).  Would eliminate the need to cycle the key.

You're just reminding me why I like my GP bike (remove rubber band holding tank on, disconnect fuel line QD, remove fuel cap, turn tank upside-down, done)

That might be a better idea !  Maybe I will try and rig that up.

You could do what Zac says : power the pump and then maybe put a y-fitting with a valve in it to swich from deilivering the fuel to the motor to your gas can.
The only other thing I can think of would be to tap a separate fitting and then use it to drain.  This would be slow at best.

I don't know that I'd go tapping that line after the fuel pump to the injectors.  These are typically pretty high pressure (right around 100psi).  Picture your branched off line coming open during a race...  Not a pretty thought...

Siphon hose and forget it...

Get a thin dowel and safety wire the siphon bulb hose to it.  You can then get the hose to the bottom of the tank pretty easily.  This gets out all but a couple ounces of fuel.

Put in a splash of pump gas and run the bike for a minute or 2.  Simple.

Also running the pump dry can be bad for it.

Don't burn up your bike.

about half of that but still high enough to squirt you in the eye  ;)

depending on the bike, some systems have a low pressure return line to the tank, you can install a quick disconnect line (example, male fitting on TB's side and female fitting on tank side) and then have another hose with a male fitting that you plug into the tank side, this will gravity feed the fuel in the tank into your fuel jug.

it does depend on the position of the return feed in the tank, most are at the bottom but some bikes do feed into the tank higher up.

FBF sells an aluminium quick disconnect, you can also get plastic ones but some people dont trust them (i have never had a problem with them myself)
