And then there's Dale Quarterley and Scott Gray from AMA Superbike.

Scott was almost fat.  Dale was 6'3" and 200 pounds.

I know that as an amateur, I need to carry more speed, twist the throttle harder and all the things that will improve my lap times. At 6'-3 & 220# on a SS legal SV, my size comes into play on the straights at Roebling Road and VIR.

As I said previously:

QuoteA heavier racer has to work much harder just to keep up with a lighter racer due to less acceleration and top end.

A heavier racer who is winning is definately a better racer than his lighter weight competion since he is at a disadvantage from the start. If everyones bike was weighted to come up with the same total weight of him on his bike you would see him smoke the rest of the field even worse. But since most people don't want to be proven wrong they would probably never accept the challenge of adding weight to their bike to match that of a heavier racer and try to still run as fast as they do without it. Very simple challenge, doubt most would accept it. :)
