Where'd they come up with CMRA?  Central to what?  I just went & checked the schedule to see if I could get in on one of those endurance races.  How about the TASORA (Texas & Sometimes Oklahoma Roadracing Association)?

That's good!  I like it!  It does suck that they are so far from anywhere.  You need a passport to get there!  We've only raced at Hallett, but that is one wicked fun track, and those CMRA people are some friendly folk.
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

QuoteYup, and as well probably lose most/all of the 2-strokers.
I've seen 2-stroke guys swapping gas tanks instead of filling up. :o  Makes for a really fast pit stop!

ccs had a team challenge a couple of years ago and it didnt turn out like it should have.  so they got rid of it and the only way to get more time is to basically take of practice in the morning and that would just make more riders mad cause they may not want to run the team challenge

CMRA was once the Central Road Racing Club (CRRC) which brought us the likes of Freddie Spencer, Jamie James, Colin Edwards, Doug Polen and many other notable riders that have filtered into the AMA and world roadracing scene. They were also noted for their Endurance roadracing program and affiliation with WERA. In my experience with this club throughout the 1980's I can say it is a top notch organization and works hard to meet the needs of their riders, endurance racing being one of them. Most of my roadracing experience comes as an endurance rider, and I can tell you there is no substitute for seat time. As for the CCS developing an endurance series- I think that would be great, the key of course would be participation, requiring teams to commit to running the whole series. This is a very labor intensive, time consuming commitment if you want to be successful as a team. Are there enough people out there to make it work? The GT races are a happy medium in that you spend a bit more time on the track and the commitment isn't as big. So please... everyone give this serious thought before petitioning CCS to change a format that could effect many, benefiting few. If you truly are interested in testing the waters of endurance racing, run a CMRA or WERA event and see what you think. I'm sure you'll find it to be an enjoyable experience, but a lot of work as well.

ccs has this already, but only at FORMULA USA races
it is called the team challenge, 250 kilometers, 1 mandatory rider change
3 team classes and 1 solo class.
lots of fun
