Enclosed Trailer

I'm thinking of buying a new trailer. I know absolutely nothing about what to look for. All I know is that I want either a 6x12 or a 6x10 enclosed trailer. Looked at the Haulmark transport and the Haulmark Cub. Help me in choosing a quality trailer.

I've had 3 Pace American trailers so far and would highly recommend them.  The quality is very good.  Never had a problem with finish, rusting, axles, brakes, doors, electrical.  

Just my $.02.

Oh, I will say that if you can get a trailer with brakes, do it now vice doing it later.  You'll always wish you had them if you don't get them...

     I hate to say your wrong, but with that size and weight of a trailer 7000# should be your total GVWR. I have a 26' x 8'-6" tandem axle V-nose enclosed car hauler with 5000# axles (15" - 6 bolt wheels). The 7000# axles should have 16" - 8 bolt wheels and would be far overkill for your trailer, there wouldn't be enough weight to allow the suspension to ride like it's supposed to, it would almost ride like a solid axle trailer.

     I have the linolium checkerboard floor and also aluminum tread plate on the front and rear ramps, both of those items will most likely NOT be on my next trailer. The reason for this is when they get wet they get very slippery and it's easy to drop the bike if it's been raining or the grass is wet. I would suggest a coating like Line-X for the floor (or a store bought manually applied coating or paint with abrasive in it) to provide traction when wet and to help keep the bikes better in place during transport. Removable wheel chocks are very handy and come in many styles. I would highly suggest quality racheting tie down straps, these will keep the bike in place during hard corners in an emergency situation, well worth the minor inconvenience when tieing down the bike and the sense of knowing your bikes will still be upright when arriving at your destination (cinch type straps will slip, trust me!). A handlebar strap is also a good investment, some are called Canyon Dancers, but there are many available. Tie down hardware isn't something to skimp on, you get what you pay for, look for American Made tie down straps if you can find them. I agree on trailer brakes, you should definately get them if your not towing with a larger heavy vehicle.

     Pace is definately a trend setter in quality and dependability, if I purchase a steel trailer next it will probably be a Pace. Absolutely for sure get a rear ramp, I would also suggest a side man door on the passenger side for access when parked along roads, like when you have your 1st flat tire ;). Tandem axle trailers are nice, though more expensive, but you'll be glad you have 2 axles when you get a flat tire. If you buy a single axle trailer I would suggest getting 2 spare mounted tires to keep in the trailer, with tandem axle trailers you could live with 1 spare (though I have 2 because I have had 2 blow outs on the same trip before).

I drove all the way from Kansas City to get it, and I saved a ton of money doing it to!!!!

Sorry but they are 7000# axles for a GVWR of 14000#. I also pull my Corvette in it so I wanted it to be super beafie.

Oh, and I payed $4050.00 for the trailer, and then added the floor and walls myself for about $500.00.
