In case you missed the announcements at the Vegas races this past weekend (or didn't attend) or didn't pick up a flyer, here's the info for the combined ASMA & CCS SW races at Arroyo Seco Raceway on the May 14-15 weekend:

  • Track will be run in the clockwise direction for the May race weekend.  Link to track map:  http://www.asmaracing.com/aboutus.html (click on the map for a bigger pic)

  • Riders will be gridded by points, ASMA and CCS SW respectively.  RIDERS MUST BE ENTERED ON SATURDAY BY NOON TO BE GRIDDED BY POINTS.  After 12 PM riders will be gridded on a first come, first served basis.

  • ASMA classes will be run at the May 14-15 event.  ASMA does not run a full CCS schedule, and we do run a few classes that CCS doesn't.  Link to ASMA classes:  http://www.asmaracing.com/classes.html

  • Arroyo Seco is very limited on pit space.  Riders will be allowed 15 feet of space each.  Pits with multiple riders will be allowed larger pits.  Get there early to get a good pit spot!

  • Electricity is not provided.  Bring a generator.

  • There will be a track day for practice on Friday, May 13th.  Cost is $50.  May 14th is also a track day.

  • Friday night Arroyo Seco will be running their drag race test & tune.  This will be free to all CCS licensed racers, but you must have a headlight to run after dark.  Because of this they will not be able to allow people to setup pits on the drag strip until after midnight on Friday.  The inner gates will open at 7 AM on Saturday and will be locked at 12 AM both Friday and Saturday.  The outer gate will be unlocked at all times.

  • Directions to the track and info on facilities:  http://www.asmaracing.com/localinfo.html

  • Race day schedule:  http://www.asmaracing.com/05racedayschedule.html

  • Questions?  Contact Roger Heemsbergen:  http://www.asmaracing.com/contactus.html
He also posts on here as Roger@ASMA.  Also, a lot of us ASMA regulars can probably help you out.
Hope that helps.

I asked elsewhere if there was anything special about pitting with the drags happening Friday night.

The only thing is we can't set up along the dragstrip as Elaine already pointed out.
