brings up an interesting side topic...

How many of you/us are fair weather racers?  Will you race in adverse conditions?  Will you race no matter what?

Well no matter what we, the corner workers, will always be out there...   ;D

Fair weather racer is EXACTLY what I call myself.
When I'm riding in the rain. I'm pretty uptight.
I'm not relaxed and having fun.
...which is why I started racing in the first place, for the fun of it. Hence, I stay out of the rain whenever I can.

QuoteBrian,
My point exactly.
If you cannot forecast it correctly....
WHY FRIGGIN' GUESS?
???

People want a longer range forecast. If the forecasters don't give the long range forecast, viewers will go where there is a long range forecast. It is a matter of giving people what they ask for, but you know what they say about that.

I look at the long range forecast watching for a trend, mostly for the temperature. Precipitation is highly variable and I only pay attention to that a day or 2 in advance.

Dude,
I wasn't trying to start an arguement.
If your Dad is a weather guy and I've offended you...I apologize.

I just really, really, REALLY WANT IT TO NOT RAIN!!!

...my reasons for that are in a previous post on this thread.

Truce...m'kay?

I am not arguing. I am not offended. Just having fun and trying to inform at the same time. I am a college physics instructor - occupational hazard.

...and lo & behold the forecast changes, yet again!!!
Now the folks who do the chicken bone dances have rubbed the appropriate beads together and have decided that it will NOT rain on Saturday and that it will be only partly cloudy.

Tell ya what, Brian & Chris...if it doesn't rain on Saturday, I'll buy ya both a beer.

If it does...I guess I'll just be pissed off.

wow...

I was shocked to see everyone getting upset about a silly weather forecast..lol

I hope everyone brings extra weights for their ezups on saturday..you're going to need them...

the panhandle of wv is in the slight risk of severe weather on saturday according to the Storm Prediction Center.

Once the storms go by it'll slowly improve.  Should be a good show as the storms roll in. nothing funnier than seeing ezups going airborne and crossing the track at turn 10...well...it wasn't funny at the time...but u get the point...

Hey who told you all the secrets!

Well, good luck to you guys, I hope it does not rain. I will be in my garage getting ready for Blackhawk next weekend. The closest I will get to the east coast this year will be Barber. If you are going, let me know, I'll have to look you up.

As far as riding in the rain, I just relax and ride at a pace at which I feel comfortable. I use rain tires. I commute most of the year on a bike and ride rain or shine - perhaps the extra experience makes it a less tense situation. I mostly don't like racing in the rain because my bike gets dirty and I think of the hours I am going to spend to get it clean again.
