The main drag in Elkhart Lake (Rhine Street) is currently tore up.  They're getting closer to completion but I think there will still be some construction on Wed/Thur....  It is open to local traffic - driving with your car/truck alone is no problem, but getting your 30' gooseneck trailer through town to the gas station might be tough.  The roads to Siebkens are fine.  Who knows, maybe it will be new blacktop by Thursday?  But thought I'd give fair warning to those planning on coasting into town on their last drop of gas, probably not a good idea.  See you soon!

Jeff

So what's the odds of getting a 57' rig to that place where they do the night before registration???

QuoteYour rig should be here June 14th

QuoteLet me call the manufacturer

QuoteIt's here!  Do you want to pick it up?  We will be open on July 3rd.

Doh!

Dunno... Right now nobody knows where it is.  It's either still at the MFR in IN, or on its way to IL where I pick it up.  I'm scheduled to pick it up on Thurs!  lol...

Wow!  Sounds like quite the rig!! Damn.  I would definitely not try and take that to Siebkens.  Especially overnight.  If you want to camp overnight with that thing I know a lot of factory teams use the first gate at Road America off of Hwy 67 to park.  The factory teams usually start arriving Monday/Tuesday already before the AMA events in June.  There's always at least one or two rigs parked there for a couple days before the gates open.  However, I don't know if they have a special deal with Road America.  A phone call to RA is simple enough: 800-365-RACE

Jeff

10bomb, I'm trying to find out how to get my pre-reg stuff on Thurs night.  Typically I drive to siebkins, pick it up and go back to the track.  If I can't squeeze the race rig through town, I'll be walking a portion or thumbing a ride somewhere.  In any event, I should be able to get in on Thurs night to setup...

You should be fine Thursday if you go straight to Siebkens.  Really shouldn't be a problem unless they decide to start tearing up more streets.

You should see some of the gigantic big-rigs the car guys pull into town with.  For the entire summer the streets in Elkhart Lake are packed with $300k cars, huge trailers, and trophy wives!  ;D

Jeff

Cool...  Just making sure I don't run myself into an area I can't get out of...  :o

Well, try as I might, it was missed by a day...  I could skip the races on Friday and go get it (but it would still have to go back for the full PDI on it), or run the weekend and get it next week after it's gone through the complete PDI...

Sigh...  I tried...

But knowing is at least some comfort.  At least now I'll have enough time to get all my prep work done tomorrow without having to stress over the new toy.
