QuoteBack to "normalcy" again.... so... if I show up, will someone show me around RA.  Never been there, so I don't know if just practice will get me where I need to be at for lap times to race, not that I would be anything more than a back marker anyways, but if I get lapped in a sprint race by 10th place....  :(

Will someone do a couple laps with me that knows the place?

Road America is easy.  You won't need much time at all.  Go really really fast, brake hard, turn, go really really fast again.  Just think of your average street squid ripping down a city street - that's RA.

That's the part I have problems with  ;D :P

The problem with RA is the length of a lap. You do not get to see a particular corner very often (about half as many laps in practice or a race). The track itself is fairly easy to learn, to be able to go really fast takes some time.

I would help you Dan, but the only combined practice is usually lightweight. ISTR you will not be on a lightweight bike. Too bad, I will be breaking in my 125 Friday morning, you would actually have a chance of keeping up.

You should do the NESBA day if you have not been there before.  You get almost no track time at RA.  Practice session's are 3 laps so as Brian said you will get to see turn 5 six times and it's time to race.  I would recomment GT race's or the Team Challenge as race/practice time if you hate NESBA.

QuoteThis could call for a run of Stumpy's bumper stickers!

"I saw Dan at Road America
and all I got was this lousy bumper sticker"

 ;D

Heather I think you've got it!

Or how about some t-shirts - 'I'm not Dan, I just don't know how to safety wire!'

Better yet - stickers that say "I'm a Danostic - there is no Dan!'

Do or do not, there is no "try".

LMAO!!!!!
I will offer a premium roll of duct tape and a brand-new can of safety wire to anyone showing me photographic proof that the supplies I'd be replacing were properly used.... ;D
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

I don't hate NESBA.  Never done a day with them.  Can't comment until I do.  I'm just trying to piss off Garth.  ;D

OMG, you guys are killing me! ;D I just read the whole thread and now I have a cramp in my side from laughing! :P

Also I would be careful if your towing a really large trailer with a Jeep Grand Cherokee if your new to this combination, those things have no wheel base and the trailer will probably be in more control of you than you will be of it. Hey wait a minute, did I just give safety advice to the immortal one? ;) :P

Am I a joke to you?  Do you find me amusing?  What's so funny about  me?  Do you think that my purpose here is to entertain you?   >:( >:(

Glad I could help  ;D

Anyways, I've towed many of times with a Jeep.  I had an older Jeep I bought just to tow to the track 2 seasons ago.  It was pretty good until I blew the motor on the way home from Gingerman. That was a V6 though.  Now I got a Hemi  :D

Yeah, funny. Funny like a clown.

Nothing wrong with the Jeep motors. It's the wheelbase that'll kill ya. Literally. The wife and I got out the Jeep after a near death experience while trailering and said "Never again!" Lemme guess-black Cherokee with a gold package, right? You're bringing those tires right?
