So I am considering running the team challenge at road america.... had a few questions.

Is there only one class for the team challenge?  Can a team consist of amateurs and experts combined?  How many riders should one be looking for?  Someone mentioned 39 laps, is this accurate?

If I did decide to do this I would like to drop my GT, can my prerigstered $$ be transfered and applied to this balance?

thanks for any and all help guys!!

There are 3 classes, GTO, GTU, GTL. There are not seperate classes for amateur and expert. Last year my team ran with 2 riders. RA is not a very tiring track to ride. I don't recall the race length, we ran out of time, the race was about 1.5 hours, maybe a little less. 39 laps sounds about right. I have run over 16 laps in 45 minutes.

It is indeed scheduled for 39 laps (based on the leader), but it will be time-restricted if there are red flag situations.

Since they changed the schedule and moved the Team Challenge to the first race of the day on Friday, chances are pretty good it will go full distance/time (unlike a lot of TCs in the past).

Brian, are you going to run it?

That is the plan. Jason (D'Amico) is riding with me. He just wants to improve our finish by one position.

You going to be entering?

Maybe. Depends on the weather. Game day decision I think...

Do or do not, there is no "try".
