QuoteLOL!!!!

Looking back on it, the conversation was hilarious.   ;D  It was almost like that point - counterpoint conversations that 60 minutes used to have.

I gotta go, I'm in training today, but I'll post later.

 :)

As long as it wasn't like the Dan Akroyd/Jane Curtain SNL News:

Jane, you ignorant s l u t!

(I can't believe they actually said that sh1t...even now it's funny!)

BTW, the auto censor won't let you say: slut. Too funny, you could say it on TV in the 70's but not in the 21st century on the forum. :-/

Dawn

Being married as long as Paul and I have, one learns how to approach them with 'delicate' subjects.  Knowing that the idea of track days might not be that appealing to him, I waited for the opportune time.  This presented itself to me on Sunday, and this is how it went....

Paul:  Did you put those sprockets on eBay yet?

Dawn:  No, not yet.

Paul:  Perhaps I should keep them for the 6 [ZX-6] and use that for track days on not my super bike.

Dawn:  Yeah, I was thinking that too and I could ride it in the Novice class.

Paul:  What?

Dawn:  Yeah, I would like to do some track days.

Paul:  You would be nothing but a roadblock on the track only doing 60 mph.

Dawn:  Obviously you have never watched the Novice class.

Paul:  You probably wouldn't even get the tires warm.

Dawn:  <smirks, rolls her eyes, and shrugs her shoulders>

Paul:  Well you would have to get a set of leathers.

Dawn:  Alexa has some that would fit me for $$$$

Paul:  How do you know they would fit?  They would probably fit you like your coveralls since you're so tall.

Dawn:  Alexa said they would fit and she should know since that is her business.

Paul:  So this all came about when you talked to her today, huh.

Dawn:  No, I've known about these for some time.

Paul:  Well your just going to have to try them on.

Paul:  Besides, if I set the bike up for myself, the suspension is never going to move under your weight.

Dawn:  I guess I'll just have to ride the bike.

Paul:  I know you ride within your limits, but even if you do, you can still fall down.

Dawn:  Yeah, I know.

Paul:  What do you think is going to happen to you when you fall down?  Just compare your muscle mass to mine.

Dawn:  Remember the bone density test that I had, the results were off the chart.  [That's why I weigh what I do, I have dense bones!  Hey!  No jokes about a hard head, OK   ;)]

Paul:  Well, when you show me you can ride on dirt, you can ride on the track.

Dawn:  What more can I show you?  I'm already wringing the neck off the little 150, and I can ride that thing on the ice just as hard as you.  [ Perhaps I should have reminded him of the times that we would ride in the triple digits on the back roads up here.  Me on the lowly ZX-6, him on the 'busa, and a buddy on a ZX-11   :o]

Paul:  Well that's why I want to get you a bigger dirt bike.

Dawn:  Yeah, I know, but I want to have fun too.

Paul:  Well you can't take it out there like it is now, and you can set it up yourself.

Dawn:  OK

Paul:  [Heavy sigh]   :-/

Yea!  I won (like there was any doubt, just don't let Paul know, because he's allowing me to do this, j/k)!  We all know that he will help me with the bike, he just had to make me work for it.  I know where he's coming from, he just doesn't want me to get hurt (he's the "I gotta protect my woman!" type of guy).   ;D

Work for it?  WORK FOR IT!?!  For the amout of effort, energy, and time you've spent supporting his racing habit over the years, HE OWS YOU BIG TIME!!!

Be sure to pick him out a cute little outfit that accentuates his curves for when he'll be holding the umbrella for you!   ;D

Yeah, that's too funny. Roger was the same when I wanted to get my RR license. Then he was right there wrenching beside me because underneath it all he's just as much of a control freak as I am. (I'm better at clutch assembly and safety wire...LOL)

Good for you. Maybe I'll take a few days with you, I haven't been on a bike in 2 years! (No not even my R6) :(

I have no problems with my wife doing track days or racing.

I think it is pretty hypocritical of any racer to not let their SO ride track days or race. Yes they could fall and get hurt, but so can you while racing.

I recall racing aginst Carol Drucker. She was not very fast (lapped her as many as 3 times in LWGP at Blackhawk), and she was never a problem. Of course I don't think there is any excuse for hitting a back marker at a club race. That whole idea of rubbing is racing is a bunch of crap.

Dawn, go ahead and do it. If you need help setting up a bike, give me a call and I will help you.

I have problems with my wife beating me  >:(  :-*

No, actually I don't.  I'm very proud of her.  And I get to take a little credit because I tune her bikes.   :)

The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"
