Last lap of through the chicane before coming onto NASCAR turns three and four at Daytona....  Who do I see Miquel coming up behind?  Our own Jesse Janish!   ;D

Such a good boy, Jesse moved over and allow room on the inside for Miquel to go by.  Miquel then waved as he passed Jesse (I've always liked Miquel).  Then coming onto the banking....  Miquel slows up and waves to Jesse and another to catch the draft with him.  I was hoot'n and hollering and throughly enjoying myself.

Congratulations Jesse on your 14 place finish.  What a great job on the track!

Did you hear the anouncer just before they went to coverage of the 200....

"SuperCROSS winner Mat Mladin......."  :-[

spyderchick

He WAS a NASCRAP announcer.

Yeah, I called Jesse right after. Of course I got his voicemail. That boy did pretty well all weekend! ;D

Congrats to Brian Hall, Dan Ortega (sorry you lowsided) and all the CCS/FUSA guys making the circuit! :D

Do or do not, there is no "try".

At one point in the last lap, the announcer (DeSpain?) said that the Facory Yamaha Team had done a good job getting Duhamel in and out of the pits....  Spencer covered it well, but I caught it.
We should have had Griff Allen in the booth!  Go Griff!

Yeah, Jessie sure couldn't have been lapped at a more opportune moment!  Sorry to see Dan fall off.  I hit the pavement in exactly the same spot he did, but that was in 2002, and I was going the other way.  Maybe he caught the divot that I left there? :P
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

Ah, my children...

Kevin Hanson 2001

Jesse Janisch 2002

Dan Ortega 2003

Brian Hall 2004

Very happy to have the opportunity to work with all of them.  Some I worked with more than others.  Good to see them there.  Really wish that I could have come up with a way to pay for my own entry into the 200 and pound on them all... 8)

Good job, guys...
Super Dave

nfcracin

Dave you know you could have and better for Road America  8) 8) 8)

Super Dave

I know.  I've got the RA AMA and the RA (Road Atlanta) AMA picked out.

Thanks!

I got the check for the leathers, etc.

Might be going to MAM in early April.  Maybe I can drop them off?

14th in the 200 that was great. Congrats to Jes, Kev and all of the Saftey first crew job well done.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAYY!!!!!!!!

Midwest racers just freakin' rule.

Congratulations, everybody!!  Yer mah heroes!
CCS AM 815... or was that 158?

Jeff

Absolutely!  I was thrilled to see Jesse so far up in the pack.  14 out of 72 starters...  THAT is awesome.

Dan O...  Dude...  You don't need to crash for air time!  ;-)  Sorry to see you drop it twice...

So what happened to Robbie Jensen?

We really wanted to cheer him on to the bitter end.

Dan-O, I don't ever want to yell, "There's DanO!" when you are on national television on the back of a crash truck again!  I don't think you'll argue with me on that one.   ;)

I'd better not hear one complaint from anyone on "lappers".  Only the top 3 were on the lead lap.

Great weekend of racing overall.  I feel like it's Monday after Christmas!

Ugh.  I was afraid of that.

He had a heck of a week, anyway.

K3 - send me a bill for the kind words - thank you, bruthu. If the bell rings with that, I'll be all up in it.

Yes, I caught the SX winner misstep.

Duhamel continues to elevate himself with humility and talent. The 'catch my draft' or 'unlap yourself' wave (whichever it was) earned a LOT of respect.

And I'm beginning to see a correlation here ... I think (in my sick, twisted, little mind) that MW racers who run the short, squirty, technical track of BHF as well as the massive, fluid, open-air windtunnel of RA tend to develop a very broad skill set that isn't as apparent in riders from other areas who don't have as much opportunity to ride such a combination of tracks. I think this is proving to be an asset.

Did that make sense to anyone else?

Way to make your paper, MW peeps - go on witchyo bad selves.

dave i still think you have more to teach me

I will be cheering you on at both hopefully. I live about 1 1/2 hours away from Road Atlanta.

Super Dave

RA?

Not my favorite track, but...

NESBA hasn't been kind to me.  However, http://www.trackaddix.com has.  They have the track on Wednesday.

To do it, I need a new job first.  Working on that.
Super Dave
