The April 10th trackday will be an open day, meaning no sessions, max 30 riders at East Track.

Riders will be able to go on and off track as they please for the entire day.... no new track riders will be allowed so there will be no vested riders on course.  Running the day in this format will give people an oppourtunity to really work on personal stuff on the track, and also really work on machine set-up, as they won't be limited by the time constraints of sessions.

The cost of the open day would be $240.

Call 480-998-9888 to reserve your spot.

$240 for the day? At Firebird East? :o

I would rather spend it on the AMA track at
Fontana, CA for the same money. We need more options in Phoenix I swear... :(

I realize that $240 may seem like a lot, but there are 50% less riders at this event then normal, and there will be no session.  This is a true open track day, and it is great way to test and tune your bike.  You can make changes to the bike go out do a few laps come in and not have to wait 40 minuets before you next session.

I too wish we had better tracks here in the Phoenix area, but this is what we have to work with, and besides Firebird East is not bad track.  I have been to far worse.  I would love to ride tracks in Europe but that just isn't reality.

Wayne, is that a mini motard you are riding in your PIC?   :o
You need to come out to the next Team AZ mini motard/pocketbike practice.  My 6 year old son is pretty fast!  ;D

The $240 charge for an open track is kinda high, considering that same money would buy you 6 races on a typical race weekend.  But if someone needs to work on their riding (like me, for instance) or their bike set-up, and they spend enough time on the track, it doesn't seem as bad.  I really think you could bump the group up to 36 riders and charge $200.  Open track days rarely have even 2/3 of the riders on the track at any given time.   :-/

I am not sure that I can make it.  There are pocketbike races that same day at Speedworld, and my kids need me to be there for them.  If I don't see you there, I should see you April 24th at the West track.   8)

Ray, it is a TEAM AZ XR50 that is completely stock.  I was goofing around trying to put my elbow down while Lee Parks was teaching his class.  This was prior to the 1st pocketbike event at the Gilbert site.  I usually work the Pocketbike stuff with Jack (I was not at the last one), and I plan on being there on the 26th, so we will see if I get spanked by some 6 years olds, but I will just break out the 80 and put a whipping on everyone.

As for the number of people, I think Jack wants to keep it at 30 for the first event.  If it goes well and on track traffic is kept low, it may be an option to increase the numbers.  Right now we have 22 riders signed up so the spots are going fast.

Here is the new weapon that I bought off Ebay.
My 11 year old  daughter Vanessa will be riding it, and she usually beats Raymond!!   :o  I also bought some 12" rims for it.
  This beast cost me $750 brand new!  It's a 107.   ;D

She will be racing it next weekend at Bondurant.  :o

Al, do you think you could handle the 8 horsepower?   ;D   ;)

..... I don't know Ray.... struggling with the whopping 54hp from my EX.... :o Speaking of which, I may be touching base with you in the next few days looking for parts for my spare motor. We talked at Firebird last weekend.
