It has literally run the gamut of my house.  I'm finally over it (3 weeks), but the wife & kids are still finishing it off.

It sucked...

Right again Alexa!

Ya know, some folk are also trying to "game" the work system by showing up sick.  If you report to work and get sent home, you're supposed to be paid for the full day as a regular work day not a sick/CTO day.  Calling in would deplete your sick/CTO bank.

I guess it either is backfiring on them or they have managers who are either too scared to send someone home or don't know enough to do so (short of a lung being coughed up).

QuoteThere was a freaking plague going around the dealer show at Indy.  Most of the people I talked to afterwards were wiped out for 3-5 days, starting 1-2 days after the show.  I got laid out as well, spending Saturday through Wednesday in bed.  Not fun.

Ah HA!!! So THAT is where Dan got it from!

He was sick the first few days we were down in Daytona.

QuoteAww crap, hey Jim I think the Winghouse made me sick...or maybe just coming home to this lousy weather.

LOL yeah I'd blame the weather too... but I'm not sick - YET.  Between the weather and this office I figure I'll be down for the count by Friday.

Everyone at work as been sick (some of them twice), my girlfriend, my whole family, my teammates and even my mechainc. Oddly enough I haven't gotten the real deal yet, only a sore throat. Normally I would have been the first one sick - I am allergic  to everthing from fruits to sun light to grass and dust, along with the fact that I have a very low white blood cell count which means my immune system can't fight of infection very well. So I have to take five different prescribed medicines each morning and get two allergy shots every Friday. I'm leaving to go to the Kevin Schwantz School @ Road Atlanta this Saturday so i'm hoping I can fight it till then.....

Wow! The Schwantz school?! Have fun and good luck on staying well.

I haven't been sick at all (knock on wood) this year. I also have OCD and wash my hands about 50 times a day. . . followed by some antibacterial hand cleanser. . . and million and one excuses not to shake hands. Did I mention my obsessive
compulsive disorder?

My teammate took Schwantz School last year and loved it!
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

While I won't exactly say I'm an ob-com (maybe that'sjust denial), but I'm like you.  I refer to it as "Lady MacBeth Syndrome."

Even in the warmer months.

Smoking. Yeah. Just don't do it. My mom used to yell at me cuz I would go outside with my hair all wet. I'd get sick, you know. Well, I did get tonsillitis once or twice a year, almost like clockwork. Did I mention both my parents smoked like feinds?

Well, after I moved out, I stopped getting tosillitis. It was only much later that I understood that being in an environment with no ciggy smoke helped me avoid illness. Oh, and I still go outside with my hair wet, even when it's 15 below zero.

So it's the hippie lifestyle for me. Avoid smoky places like the plague, eat organic whenever possible, and get educated about what really causes illness; more importantly, what boosts immunity and will support wellness.

Do or do not, there is no "try".

I started feeling it on the way back on Monday.  By Tuesday night I was "done".  Fortunately, there is a prescription available (Tamiflu) that will actually fight the virus if you start taking it within 48 hours of the onset of symptoms.  Between that and the prescription cough medicine, I only missed 2-1/2 days of work.
