I have an R1 for the street and have been thinking about getting something much slower for a long time.  If you have a liter bike you are definately going to twist the throttle on it (even if you can look at a plte of cookies and not eat them!! lol ).  I like the supermoto thing, although I'd be just as bad on that as I am on my R1.  Just my .02

I know quite a few guys who went from a 1000 to 600. Kinda blows that "Never go back" motto. ;D

My next streetbike will more than likely be 1480cc. ;D ;D

I prefer a 600 on the street.

Still MORE than fast enough to get you into trouble.  But not so stupid fast that you can't pound on it until 4th gear.  I like the fact that when I'm feelin' saucy I can wind out 3 gears without fighting to keep the tire on the ground.

Quoteunless you're the type of guy that can sit in front of a pile of chocolate chip cookies and not touch them...or other analogies I can think of.  ;)
When I sell it I'll either abandon street riding (not likely) or get a 600.  Maybe a KTM moto thing or maybe a sport tourer if I decide to go back to taking long trips like I did in my younger days.

LOL!  Awesome analogy...

That's me...

My streetbike is a liter bike, but it only makes around 85 hp.   ;D

It's a Moto Guzzi Centauro, has the 4 valve, OHC engine so it's much revier than the pushrod Guzzis.  Tons of torque, plenty fast for the street, handles plenty well for the street (I've even done a track day on it), comfortable, low maintance shaft drive, and it doesn't look like it is fast or would pull a wheelie, so cops ignore it.

I wouldn't want to ride a 600 on the street.  Too much shifting.  I don't want to have to downshift three gears to make a pass.
