Well looks like I'll be replacing the Dakotas heater core for the 4th time. >:( First one blew Aug 02. The last one this week (4 months old). I've had it. Tired of having to remove the whole dang dash just to replace a COMMON PART. I seen on Dakotadakotas.com that there is ALOT of people with the same problem. Some are on #5 with a 2001 model.

So if anyone works at a Toy dealer, whats the chance they could import me a LC78 hd work truck? Dont care if it is right hand drive, just has to be manual and built for work (prefer the rear tray, aka flatbed, opt).

Dont anyone even say buy GM. After the way they treated me with warranty garbage with my sonoma, I'd rather drive a Kia.

And yes I am very pissed about this. >:(

Sorry Todd. After the way I was treated by GMC's warranty people with warranty problems with my Sonoma, wont touch a GM product again.

Stop driving that Dodge junk and your problems will go away  ;)

You're going to get horrible service from ANY domestic dealer.  If you want to be treated like a customer, and not a nuisance... you gotta go import.

Naw, no apology necessary, just giving you sh1t. I had a GMC 1/2 ton, I think it was a '93, by 60k it had gone through two exhaust systems, an alternator, and some other niggly stuff. The very weekend after I sold it $1100 worth of seals went on it-guy's garage floor was one big puddle. What the heck is an LC 78? A medium duty rice burner? Is a Ford out of the question? I've heard the straight 6s with a 5 speed are pretty tough, easy on the gas.

http://lc78.toyota.com.au/LC78/HomePage/0,,,00.html is what a LC78 is. ;D Only slight problem is getting it over here. I dont know if this is on the DOT/EPA's approved list of imports. If it isnt, its gonna cost $$$.

Only problem I ever had with a Ford truck is 2 dash fires. Both of which my brother was driving at the time.

OK temporarily fixed it. Just to try something before I bypass teh heater core completely and drive without heat til it warms up a little to work outside on it. I tried Bars Radiator sealer. Cant believe that stuff actually worked great. The misting stopped within 10 min. The smell left (the strong smell) about 30 min later. Hopefully it will give me enough use until it warms up enough to be comfortable outside working on the truck (50 should be perfect) and no rain for the weekend.

Yes, Consumer Reports said 1/100 Ford Trucks come back to dealer for warranty work where as 33/100 Chevy trucks come back for work. + the Powerstroke is an International diesel made here in the ole USA, where as the Duramax is made in Japan by Isuzu. We're not %100 "Buy American", but we TRY to buy American when it makes sense.

I've been a fan of Toyota's Landcruisers since the old FJ40s. Guess what? In '06 they're introducing a new 2 door, FJCruiser, as they'll call it. From initial pics that'll be hard to resist-have go to the spec sheets. That LC78? Damn!!
