QuoteAnd yes Hman, if you come to BHF, bring your sparring gear.  ;D Havent kicked anyone in the head in a few years. ;D (Yes Dawn, I can kick to the head. Dont like to, but can. I love hook kicks).  ;D

Himmm......

You only go up to my shoulder, I don't know if you could get a foot that high. You just may pull something.

I saw a guy's eye socket shattered at a tournament a number of years ago by a hook kick. Not pretty.

And as far as a silencer goes...just uses a nice pillow like they do in the movies, after all, it's a lot cheaper.  :o ;)

Postal...do those guys even get any work to do any more?  :P

Do or do not, there is no "try".

H-man

Yeah, just walk with a pillow under your jacket or try one of those 2 liter bottles like on TV.

Hook kick, eh?  Too Hollywood for me.  Definitely effective, but I've never been one to go into styles or practice O-waza that seemed to rely on there being even terrain, no snow or gravel, or simply presuming good footing, light shoes (ha!) and loose pants.  My kicks have always been the knee and below.

I think we'd have a ton of fun.  Whether in a mild randori or just talking through the moves with the occasional demonstration.

Though I guess you missed my subtle attempt to stack things in my favor (just ask your shooting partners.  It's one of the main rules - never give the other guy a fair chance).  I like the idea of my bo vs. your sai ;D

For tourny's we had to keep kicks above the belt (I did try to tie it around my forehead one day in class when I had to spar the instructor. Can we say bad idea. ;D He took me to the floor faster than Rosie Odonnell scarfs a twinkie. ;D). For street fighting, anythign goes. I have no problem going with steel toed boots to the groin if the case needs be.:D

Although I unfortunately had to use my training this christmas on some kid who tried to push me. He ended up against the wall with his right arm in a bar with my right hand grabbing his throat against a wall. Its amazing how fast it comes back. Thats not why I started taking martial arts. I only took it to help lose weight.

Dawn, I was within 3" of being able to do full chinese splits. :o ;D

AKF has some serious rules about kicks to the head, while allowed, you are supposed to pull them. In my 4 yrs the worse I seen was a broken nose and that was the instructor.

Bwahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"
