Well if you swing out to BHF I'll be there for sure. Ginngerman is a toughie. 5 hrs one way through the thief pit known as the IL Tollway.  ;D

Hey we can talk martial arts too. ;D Brown belt in Kyukido. ;D Katana's and sai's are what I used for tests. ;D

For some reason they dont think H&K SW5 is a valid martial arts weapon and Desert Eagle is a form. :o ;D

Brilliant!.

I've a hodge-podge of various styles myself.  All aimed and quick and practical.  More the "jutsu" - science than the "jitsu" - art.

Done some bo and jo (shorter than the bo, but not as short as a baton) work.  Achieving brown belt in that.  It's kinda funny how the Okinawan style with the bo is so closely adaptable to using a rifle.

You are a man after my own heart.  Given the MP5 isn't available to civilians, the SW5 is close enough.  And with a few mods....  Nothing gains instant respect from life's lower forms than a MP5 and a coupla frags.

Actually it is. ;) A guy I used to shoot with near Whitewater, WI has one. Also has a Class III FFL. Lets just say, full auto is fun.:D The guy and his buddy that usually is out shooting with him are both retired Seals. Lets just say they are a bit *strange*. :o ;D

COuld had got a chance to fire a M60 on sunday, but went to the bike show in chicago instead. :'(

Are you sure about it being a MP5?

You seem pretty knowlwedgeable and all.  It just sems a bit scary that something with such a short barrel and no stock is available even to a class III dealer for sale to the public.

I know if you're willing to pay the $300 add'l tax and abide by the extra rules the ATF places on ya, anyone can own a full auto.  But dang!

I would love to play with a MP5K, MP5SD (suppressed version) or get my paws on the new "personal defense" weapon the MP7A1.  Can you imagine having one of those puppies strapped on along with a suppressed USP (.45 or 9mm, it's all good) and a MP5K?  Would make the house clearing stage of a practrical shoot a real blast (no pun intended).

It was a MP5. That tax stamp is more than toss $200 to the ATF, you still need a signed letter of approval from the head LEO of your area. Still if state laws forbid it, you'r SOL. WI allows full auto and suppressor ownership with proper papers. Problem is finding a range thats NFA friendly.

The MP5K is a riot, I have one belonging to a buddy of mine a few times.  Liquid lead, and way teeny.  I also had the pleasure of spending a little "quality time" with an HK53, my personal favorite of that company's line.  Compact enough for a house clearing, but powerful enough to reach out and touch if needed.  You'd obviously need to run frangible stuff for CQB indoors, but that tool was glass smooth and wicked accurate for such a compact piece.

The rails on that MP7A1 look like they'd make it a very adaptable piece, H.  I hadn't checked that out before seeing your post.  I'm still partial to a good 'ol AR-based 10" (Colt Commando or XM177E1 style) collapsible.  Nothin' wrong with American iron when it's set up right.   ;)

H and Rob in the same place.  Now THAT would be something.
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

I like the MP5.

Almost got a hold of a Thompson.

Should have bought an Ingram MAC10 that was offered to me about ten years ago.  It had a silencer with it too.

Remember the movie "The Soldier"...?

[In my best yackov Smirmov, Russian accent] Wisconsin.  What a state!

Rob, you guys can legally \ own suppressors there?!  Damn!  I thought operable suppressors were illegal on the federal level.  One thing that puts you in sort of a Catch-22 is if you're a civilian wanting to get a new piece for the suppressor.  The '94 Clinton crime bill's firearm provisions made the sale of handguns and rifles with threaded barrels (for..uh... flash suppressors) illegal.  Oh well, if you already own it or buy it privately, you're cool.

[note to self, must add Rob's tel. number to PDA and cell]

03R6-Rider, evrything you noted is dead on.  And I have no problem with American iron (ARs, Springfield Armory.  Is Kimber American?).  But... when the pucker factor is high, I'd just feel a little better with a SIG, HK or Glock for a sidearm.
