Another Dreaded Tire Opinion Question

Hey guys/gals, looking for some feedback on the Pirelli SuperCosa's. Since I was planning on running them this year.

I was wondering what type of experiences you've had using the supercorsa's in the wet or how much of a wet condition were they can still provide traction.  I know thats a pretty open ended question, but I've never really pushed to it to hard in the wet.

Also was wondering how some of your lap times might vary versus wet/dry conditions.

I know that rain tires would more than likely provide the best grip in the wet, but due to the lack of $$$ in my pocket, I need to figure the best possible route to take on a limited budget.  Plus I'm just being curious.

Ok, preface, I'm a regular Michelin guy...

But I've raced on a lot of stuff.

The Pirelli race tires are pretty decent.  Really, you've got the choices of Dunlop, Michelin, and Pirelli.  Your race track distributor's service to you might be the thing that sways you one way or another.

Most DOT labled race tires work really, really well in the dry.

Rain, they aren't so good.  How much slower?

Well, there are varying conditions of wet.  So, that's really hard to gauge.  You WILL go slower.  How much depends upon, how wet...standing water, damp, huge puddles, etc.  Additionally, because traction in the rain IS unpredictable, you have to consider risk.  Do you go out and try to push it in one corner?  Often rain riding has to do with survival and opportunity.  If it was all about rider, a wise rider once said to me, the outcome would be the same in the dry, just closer.

Do you have the money in your budget to replace the fairing, front master cylinder, etc if you crash in the rain with DOT's?

Rain tires are WELL worth any investment.
