.... daughter off it to tell her she can't go ice riding with dad.    ::)

Yep, she's been burning the candle at both ends with school, basketball, and solo ensemble.  Now she has a really good cold.  She was concerned that she wouldn't do well in the solo ensemble district competition because she couldn't breath through her nose.  This morning, whe told me how congested she was....

BUT, she's OK to go out on the ice.

I don't think so.

Oh well, she'll get over it by the time she's married.

Yeah...

Paul said, "Well, she could dress really warm and if she gets cold, she can sit in the truck."   ::)

No... it's a bit above freezing and I'm expecting some slush on the ice so I'm sure the boys will come back soaked.  I'll have to let you know.

There's always next weekend.

Here you go, Dawn.  Read this to Renee.
I remember back in grade school, I had this one summer when I came down with all the childhood diseases back to back.  I think it started with chicken pox, followed by mumps, followed by measles.  Dad was racing his cars, but I was too sick to come along.
I would stay home with Mom or Grandma, and Dad would head off to the races without me.  I howled and cried and kicked and screamed every time he left for the races.  I mean, no racing?  A person can't be too sick to go racing, can they?  Dead, I could see.  But merely sick?  The best thing in the world, and I had to stay home?  It was just so unfair that I couldn't go to the track!  I was so sad that I wanted to die!
Come to think of it, I guess I haven't changed much as an adult.... :-[
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

While cold and wet and slush won't cause a cold or illness, they can compromise a weakened immune system. It sux having to be a mom some days.

Oh well, you're just a big ol' meanie, Dawn. ::) Renee will get over it.   ;)

Do or do not, there is no "try".
