Any more news on if we'll have to leave the track between the TrackAddix day and the NESBA day?  Hope not, would be a huge hassle....

Good question Dave. I haven't heard anything more about it. Could someone please fill us in?

Why not give Road America a call and ask them

Hey Gang,
I have been in touch with Road America regarding this issue and to make it happen, TrackAddix and nesba have to work together.  According to this post by Garth Coyd it would seem that nesba's intent would be to allow you to remain set up in the pit.

QuoteYes, that would be my intent.   In the end it needs to be cleared with the Road America administration.  It needs to be approved and finalized.  I want to make it as easy for everyone as possible.    :)

And, Garth is right when he says the ultimate decision lies with Road America.  However, it would be much easier to convince them to allow it if TrackAddix and nesba could work together on the issue.

I have attempted to contact Garth numerous times but have gotten no response.  Obviously there are many differences of opinion between TrackAddix and nesba. However I am willing to set all of these aside for the benefit of the racing community.  It is entirely up to Garth and I continue to wait for his reply.

My suggestion is for you, the racing community, to send a loud and clear message to Garth and nesba regarding your desires.

Thank you for your support.  Those of you familiar with our TrackAddix operation know that we run a safe and professional event.

We are looking forward to racing with all of you this season!

Dean, forgive me here, and please understand this is just my comment and opinion.  I don't want you to take this negatively because that's not the intent.

I haven't really seen any conflict with Garth.  He seems to support what you're doing and seems to understand the benefits on a joint basis.

My point is that perhaps you could/should be working with Garth directly via phone vice on the public forum.  Leveraging us to pressure him on the forum could really lead to some animosity in my experience and opinion.

Again, just my view of the situation from the outside.  No reply required.

Personally, I look forward to working with BOTH organizations through 05.  Dean, through a mutual friend and business contact, you and I will get to know each other probably quite well this year.  I look forward to it.

Kind regards,

-Jeff

If the participants from Trackaddix stay but also attend the NESBA event that should be no problem. However I can't think of any org who would allow non participants to stay while displacing those who are attending the event. Meaning if your not there to participate in the next event then I would think that the next org has every right to say "can you please leave for the day so our customers who are attending can get the best seervice possible."
This has nothing to do with comepeting track orgs just simply common courtesy that the next org has paid for the facilities therefore they want only those who are paying customers to use the facility.
This does not make for one org to be good or bad over another just simply its our event this is what we would like to have happen.

Dean, I am not sure what E-mail you are using but I can assure you I have not received one E-mail from you.  The one listed on this forum is my American Honda work. In addition my NESBA.com one is fully activated thru www.nesba.com.

As many have said above.  I do not feel that publicly airing this out is the correct manor in which to conduct things.  Calling me out and stating that you have contacted me via E-mails; in effect trying to put the entire issue as NESBA's responsibility does not sit well with me.  Again I have never received one E-mail from you.

It's not even about whether we agree or disagree on how to run track days.  I could care less what you do until you put negative spins directed at NESBA.  Case in point:

•      No Membership Fee Required to attend.
•      Racer Only Day-No street riders to dodge.
•      No Limits on where and when you can pass-this is a race practice, right?
•      No Control Riders policing your activities-your a licensed racer, we'll treat you like one.
•      More Track Time, Less Money.
•      All the same vendors will be present because they will be where the racers are.

Presenting this entire paddock stay over issue as being my responsibility is pure bullnuts.  YOU should take responsibility for it, certaintly not me.  And calling me out about it is highly inapropriate.

My responsibility lies with the riders participating with the NESBA event.   No more no less.   I am currently in discussions to take care of these NESBA participants.

I have always positioned myself to get along with other track day organizations.  But it is a mutual process.  I have very good relationships with STT, Edge, Learning Curves, and CSLB.

I will be happy to sign up with both events. Especially if I know I won't have to set up and tear down my whole rig every night.

Bottom line, I think racers just want practice time.  I don't think it matters if the Elkhart Lake Lions Club holds it or Kevin Schwantz holds it.

Everyone just wants some track time before the weekend, which is always crazy and CCS practice sessions end up being about 4 laps at most if you don't pull in to make changes at RA.

As long as Stumpy can drive his bike around the track and get ready to go race, he's happy!
