Hey Gang,
We have had many phone and email responses to our post regarding our proposed Racer Only practice day at Road America on April 20th.  In fact, we heard from more Amateur racers than Expert racers.  We got your message loud and clear and will change the format to include both yellow and white plates.  We will run a 2 group format with session lengths being 30 minutes.  Groups will be slow/medium and medium fast.  We will even lower the price to $160 if you register early.

Let me be clear that we were not looking to compete with NESBA regarding this event and fully expect that racers will attend both the TrackAddix and NESBA days.  Afterall, it's really all about getting track time isn't it?  This will be the first chance for most racers to get on the track after a long winter of prepping their bikes.  We are simply trying to provide more opportunity for riders to knock the winter rust off their skills and get their bike dialed in.

I actually had previously emailed Garth to see if we could work together for the benefit of the racers.  I am still interested in working with him to arrange for racers attending both the TrackAddix and NESBA events to arrive Wednesday and set up their pit for the weekend.  Also was interested in maybe swapping some slots.  Figured maybe he and some control riders might want some extra track time.  I have never been to RA before so I sure can use all the track time I can get.

I am disappointed that Garth has elected to view us as competition for the NESBA day and has posted a message on this forum with negative connotations regarding my event.  And lets remember that it was originally only a proposed day that I was seeking racer input for.

Here are some of the benefits of the TrackAddix day:

  • No Membership Fee Required to attend.
  • Racer Only Day-No street riders to dodge.
  • No Limits on where and when you can pass-this is a race practice, right?
  • No Control Riders policing your activities-your a licensed racer, we'll treat you like one.
  • More Track Time, Less Money.
  • All the same vendors will be present because they will be where the racers are.

For those of you who haven't experienced a TrackAddix event yet, come see what your missing!  Go to www.TrackAddix.com and signup today.  Most of our events SELL OUT and this one will not be any different.  Sign up today to lock in your spot!

The only question I have is how/why NESBA and myself even got brought into your post.  Wasn't from me.   ???

Yes, that would be my intent.   In the end it needs to be cleared with the Road America administration.  It needs to be approved and finalized.  I want to make it as easy for everyone as possible.    :)

Cool, I was really hoping we wouldn't have to set everything up each and every day for the first 3 days of the weekend.

Lets keep this good will going. I hope we can fill both events and everyone wins!

That's what I'm talking about!  Most racers are going to do both the TrackAddix and NESBA days.  Like I said, it's all about the track time.

Get to RA on Wednesday morning, setup your pit, get 2 days of practice and setup time, and then go racing.  Does it get any better than that!?

I have emailed Garth twice and am still waiting to hear back from him about putting something together that will benefit everyone.  Paging Garth!  Call me!

NESBA definitely has it's place and I'm sure a lot of streetriders appreciate it (it's a good place to get off on the right foot.)

But your organization?  Dang.  Why weren't you guys around last year???  Your setup sounds a lot more like how *I* would run a trackday org!

Figures... good stuff comes around when I take some time off!  ;)

Good luck with it...

Jim,
Thanks for the compliment!  We came on the scene in 2003 and in only 2 years time we have taken over the markets at Heartland Park Topeka, Mid America Motorplex, and Brainerd.  We are now expanding eastward.  Keep an eye on us!  We are a professional organization that is growing rapidly.  Hope to see you at a future event.
