Might have to sell our trailer - no place to store it. (live in the city).

Have you ever seen one of these or heard anything good/bad?

Although it would be a drag because we couldn't drive together, and we wouldn't have a place to put our stuff or sit inside, and unless you had a van with side doors, you couldn't get to the stuff inside your car/suv, and you'd have to smell the gas cans in your car, and...and....and....besides all that...

About $425 and you're set up.

Any comments?

Well when I raced motocross those were just hitting the scene. They look like they could work fine as long as you don't get rear-ended....Why don't you and Tom just get the double bike carrier and you both could still get the bikes to the track. So what if the inside of the van smells like gas, I mean I wish they made a cologne that smelled like VP. But on a more serious note, if you have to get rid of the trailer then oh well.. A racer has to do what a racer has to do.

How about the 8' x 8' fold up trailers? They fit in like 2' deep of space when folded up vertically, don't you have room for that? :)

I have a friend that owns a bike shop, who also sells these type of trailers.  He's confident enough in them to put his own pride and joy on them.  Only thing he said is always get the trailer that holds the most weight.  He said that they are kind of "overrated" as far as capacity statements are concerned.   I'd buy one and put a bike on it.

Another issue with smaller trailers is to get the larger diameter wheels/tires, smaller tires turn alot of rpm's and can cause failures at highway speeds of not only the tires but also the bearings. :)

Just find a rental spot to store your trailer.  That's what I ended up doing.  I could keep the trailer at my house because it's small, but Code Enforcement said no motorhomes.  I ended up renting a spot big enough for both, thus freeing up a parking space at the house.
No doubt it sucks to pay $45 a month to store my rig, but I'd rather pay the money than do without it.  At least when I pay 6 months at once, I get the seventh month free! ::)
The frame was snapped, the #3 rod was dangling from a hole in the cases, and what was left had been consumed by fire.  I said, "Hey, we've got all night!"

I've got my friends mototote .. works good.
you may need to put some kind of air bags or some other type of suspension lift for the rear as without it ,the steering gets light. and is probably not very safe

you should also lookup versa haul.. its a little more adjustable and has the receiver on the end. also a few bucks more.

also when you are figuring the weight.. remember these thigns weigh about 80-90 pounds so add that to your bike weight and see if your hitch supports it

I live in the city too and sold my trailer for that exact reason. I bought a mototote for motocross bikes and it works great for my little TZ. I love not having to tow a trailer and my toyota doesn't seem to be upset by it.  :)

another company with a carrier is VersaHaul.

it will work fine depending on the vehicle, some SUV's do not carry a lot of weight on the hitch, to to versahaul's site and check the listing for capacities.

other than that it works great, easy to load  and one person only needed. Even with my pickup sometimes I rather just put it on a carrier because it is a pain for me to load/unload from the bed.

Anyone have a web link to a trailer like this?

You can get them much cheaper on ebay though  ;)

I live (nearly) in the city, and have a kendon trailer. It is the way to go if you can't store an enclosed. You do need a driveway or side of the house to put it against when folded. But it is excellent, though expensive. Will haul 2 Harleys, let alone racebikes, with complete confidence.  You can look for used ones. They hold their resale pretty well.
