Oh, and Matt, call Tommy, I think he may be bringing some extra bikes for other people to ride. I told him he could take mine if it's fixed on time...

Lake Koshkonong is due west of Ft. Atkinson, WI.

From the intersection of Hwy 26 and 106 go west on 106 about 1/8 of a mile turn onto North Shore Rd. continue to High Ridge Rd.turn right and the bar is about 1/4 mile on the left, Gimmer's Sunset Marina. If you hit the lake on Where North Shore ends you went past High Ridge. There should be signs up at 106/North Shore and at North Shore/High Ridge.

Phone at the bar is 920-563-5702. For any other info call 262-754-0686 or email steelshoe@wi.rr.com.

I understand there is a new rule this year. If your fenders come off and cannot be repaired you will be disqualified from the race. It's a safety thing. Build 'em good guys. We want to see everyone finish.

Sign up is 8:30 - 10, practice is 9 - 11 and the race starts at noon.  That's the latest info I have.

The weather is supposd to be perfect. See ya there.

Almost balmy...

About 25 for a high...might have to wear the Vanson's rather than the winter stuff.

Edgar...who am I riding with with Tommy?

Which raises a question I've had for some time - what *do* you wear for ice racing?  What kind of boots - Sorels? Snowmobile boots? Regular racing boots?

What about body warmth/protection - what kind of tops/bottoms?  And gloves?  Is there a heater/defroster attachment that goes in the helmet?

I'd love to give this a try - just not sure I have a darn thing to wear for it.

How about those speedo's you wore at Topeka? :o

Anyone from Chicago going to watch?  I would prefer to ride with some folks, rather than drive.  I've got some gas money. ;D

i usually wear most of my MX gear, though i have worn heavier, winter boots. knee and elbow pads are a must in my opinion, chest protector optional. the worst thing about MX boots is that there is no insulation, so bought some super duper elec socks. other than that, some bibs(Carharts are the most popular) and a winter jacket, for gloves i wear Mechanics Impact II's, but i have the muff things that go over the handlebars. lastly, i wear a MX helmet and have a Balaclava for really cold days.

I wear old Air Force arctic flying pants, coats, and my road race boots with some insulated over boots.  I have some nice insulated Yamaha snowmobile gloves.  You can wear leathers if its warmer out.

leathers w/back protector
carharts over the leathers unless WARM
MX boots w/winter socks (feet stay dry and mine stay warm too...)
Thin gloves but I have bar gauntlets to keep the wind out.  This is a must
Balaclava covering face/neck
MX helmet w/goggles

I've run a street helmet which was warmer & more comfortable, but heavier...
