I still have a ton of pictures to upload (about 250) but I ran out of webspace.  I bought more, but I guess it takes a little while to update.  I uploaded all the pictures last night, and then notice every file was 0 KB in size because I was over my limit, so I gotta do it all over again  >:(  As soon as they finish giving me more space, I"ll put the rest up.  :D

QuoteM5 is defintely sweet.  I drooled all over the steering wheel in one of them.   I'm waiting for the M6  :D

you actually like the Bangle M5?

Pictures don't do that car justice.  You gotta sit in it and then you're like  :o   I'd buy one, but I want the M6.  I like the body on the 6 series better.

Any hint of what the next generation M3 will look like at the show?

Nah.  They had the current model and that's it.  I spoke with Oleg who is a BMW engineer that works with Bosch on the engine management systems.  He said no more M3.  M4.  He also told me that they are having problems with the engine management system for the M6, so it'll be atleast a year before it's European release, and 2 years probably before the U.S. release.  They wouldn't get into too many details on the M3 replacement other than it's no longer an M3, and it's a couple years off.

I also hear that the M5 will ONLY be available with the SMG transmission. What did the M5 at the show have?

Yeah, it was SMG.  I took a picture of the shifter.   Both M5's (silver and blue pictures) were both SMG.

3 series = 4 doors
4 series = coupe (-> M4)

M5 only gets new 7-gear SMG

There was a massive recall on european 645 last summer.  Not surprised M6 is delayed.  I know why I'm not worried about the bet. ;)

The main problem that they have from my understanding is that they are using multiple "bus" type system and subsystems and they are causing conflicts between each other.   The engine management is CAN B, the body electronics are BEAN, and the rest uses MOST.  All of that with a Flexray or Byteflight type overlay.  So, too many different types of BUS systems in the vehicle.   Who knows by the time they sort it all out, we'll be on 08' MY vehicles.  Either way, I want the M6 and I'll get it should it ever get made.  :D

QuoteGet the E46 M3 now and shut yo mouth sucka

Nah.  I'd get an E55 instead of the M3 instead if that's what I wanted.  I'd rather wait.   :)

E55 has too many doors. :)
