Hey everyone,
Just dropped my license app in the mail today.  Looking foward to meeting all of you.  im a 20 year old from jersey.  did trackdays for the past 3 years, took team promotions ART-LTD class last year to be eligible for my 05 license.  Now i have some questions ;D go figure...

im pretty sure i understand what classes i can run but just to be sure....heres some background info on my bike and whats on it that i think may bring up some controversy...

03 cbr600rr
-galfer wave rotors
-brembo MC (not stock bore and stroke)
-pcIIIusb (dont think it matters)
- non stock clipons, fairing stay, rearsets, brake lines, air filter, rear brake resevoir, DB windscreen, and brake pads (dont think any of those affect anything)

if anything dosnt seem compliant let me know.  i plan to race superstock middleweight and maybe some others.....anyone reccomend any other classes?

as far as practices go..... how do they work?  and is there ANY practice included in the entry fees or do you just go out and race if you dont pay the $$ for the practice day?  im confused.

slicks are NOT legal is superstock correct?  what are they legal in? anything but superstock right?

numbers must be on each side of your helmet now?  what size numbers and what color for amatuer?

anything else i should know?  the bike is safety wired so im good there.  i  used pirelli's last season but due to cash...i may go with the $259 a set dunlops or bridgestones.

thanks for everyones help/advice in advance!

Chris

oh yea...ps:  when can i expect my license?  i need a copy of it to send to suomy.

Your bike should be supersport legal, so you can race MWSS, MWSB (superbike), MWGP, GTU (30 minute race). You can also race up in classes, HW (heavyweight) and unlimited, HWSS, HWSB, ULSS, ULSB, ULGP and GTO (30 minute race).

Quoteas far as practices go..... how do they work? Êand is there ANY practice included in the entry fees or do you just go out and race if you dont pay the $$ for the practice day? Êim confused.

Practice is included. There are 2 to 3 rounds in the morning of 10 to 20 minutes each round. Depends upon turnout and number of incidents during practice.

Quoteslicks are NOT legal is superstock correct? Êwhat are they legal in? anything but superstock right?

Sounds about right. There may be some classes (thinderbike, sportsman) where slicks may or may not be allowed.

Quotenumbers must be on each side of your helmet now? Êwhat size numbers and what color for amatuer?

AFAIK there are no rules about sizze and color. You want the numbers to be large anough for corner workers to be able to read them when they are checking for a missing rider.

Yes, remember to have fun.

It could be a while. I usually get mine before my first race which is usually in April, I think usually sometime in March I get it.

From the 2005 rule book

B. Aftermarket brake rotors may be used but must be the same dimensions as the
originals and must be made of a ferrous material. Non-current motorcycles may use
brake rotors up to the same size as those that come as original equipment on the
current model machine.

As long as the OD of the brakes is the same, wave rotors should be ok.

Hey, rulebook doesn't say anything about clutches, what is the basis for people saying you can't put a slipper clutch in a SS bike?

CCS SS : if the rulebook does not say you cannot do it, then you can. I have never seen anything about putting in a slipper clutch so it should be legal.
