I am now trying to do it in more of a good natured way, just as I do with some people on the board who I actually know.

 

I, for one, have been deeply wounded by your "good natured" attacks. sssnk!  I just don't understand why you feel the need to...sssssnkpht hee hee.... persecute people with BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
Oh well.  I tried, but I just couldn't type with a straight face. ;D

Dan does a fine job of making himself into a target.  That said....
Why can't people be a bit more good-natured on this board?  A bit more tolerant?  A bit more adult?
How long has Dan been here on this board?  A year?  I think that anyone with a brain can see what he's about.  We all grew up with a kid like that in our neighborhood.  The kid usually took a few beatings, just for being his usual annoying self.  But he never changed his game plan, and the rest of us eventually learned that the most painful, punishing thing you can do to a guy like that is to ignore him.
Dawn has a great deal of control over this board.  She is a dear friend and teammate of mine, so I feel safe in saying that I know her better than many who post here.  Dawn is very much about God, Country, and Family Values.  In other words, an "Old School" American.  90% of the problems on this board circle around Dan.  (Personally, if 90% of the problems with my motorcycle could be traced to a single component, I'd be removing that part with a hammer and a gas ax!)  Dawn believes in the American concepts of tolerance, free speech, and respect for the viewpoints of others.  That's why Dan is still on this board, and why people start getting cautioned when the Dan bashing gets too thick.  It would be SO much easier to just ban Dan, but that would go against the very principals that this country was founded on.
In America, every bunghole is given the constitutional right to spout bung.  There are legal consequences if an individual decides to commit slander, libel, or assault against that bunghole, no matter how deep his bung gets.  That's democracy in action, and you must take the good with the bad.

I'll say this one more time, just in case anyone might have missed it.
The most hurtful thing you can do to a bunghole is to ignore his bung!

That movie ws a riot!  It had a ton of scenes and lines that are worth remembering.

If I'm not mistaken, it's the film that launched Mel Brooks as a movie director. [you can pick up all sorts of mindless minutia on this BBS ;D]
