OK Dan, I have a bet for you. I will bet a 6 pack of beer and a lap dance at the dollar club that I will not get to see you at a MW event by July 1st...that is almost a 7 month window. Are you ckicken?

BTW, my money is still on Rossi, although I have a feeling that this year will be a bit more difficult, I still don't see anyone of his caliber out there. Anyone else is chump change. Luck has too much to do with this sport, except for when you are special like Vale.

Edgar and I tried to get a bet going at Gingerman last October.  He was convinced that Dan wasn't a real person.... just some kind of mutant computer virus that manages to attach itself to Racing BBS's and slowly sucks the life out of them.  Me, not being one to disagree with a computer pro like Edgar, had to take his advice to bet on the virus.  Like I said, we tried to get the bet rolling, but no amount of money (or Beer) could get anyone to put something down for the other side of the bet.

I guess everyone realized the cruel truth of the matter when another weekend of racing, and another season of racing came to a close and Dan once again failed to materialize as a human being, even in his home state:

Dan, indeed is some form of insidious, mutant computer virus that constantly remanifests itself into one form or another.  Beware, there is no anti-virus software known to man capable of staying a step ahead of this neuron hungry fungus!

For those who have ever met Dan at the track, they all know that Dan is not the Dan we knew from BBS as he is the quietest person on track because he doesn't want anyone to realize he's there (being a backmarker).   ;D  Then the next day, he'll post like he's a superstar at the track and clocking some real fast lap time only capable by a real racer.

Well, that may be so.  Remember, you contacted me about this same type of track day event (there are even threads about it here or over at WERA's BBS).  Then "poof".  Never another word.

More power to ya if you can make it happen.  I hope you recognize it'll be a weekday.  After all, look how Trackoholics can't even get w/e dates at those tracks.

I'll generalize based on my own experiences...

First, I have never met Dan.

However, based on a bet, Dan paid to my program.

He did what he said.

Second, MOST people never come to the race track in spite of any thoughts, promises, whatever.

I've been on the side of sponsoring people, and I can tell you that decent and honest racers have not been able to deliver on making it places and the like.

So, Sunny...

Be done with it.

Seems as though your only existance is, often, to be the anti-Dan.

Doesn't seem to make much sense in just being someones alter-ego.

So, figure away to put your effort into something else, please.

I wasn't doubting him.  I always have Dave verify, even when I made a payment on a losing bet.  Rev's good  :)  I didn't doubt it.  Just want to keep everything clean   8)
