When you send in your letter to stay amateur, they will look at your performance index.

     If CCS went strictly by performance index, they wouldn't bump me back to Amateur, I would have to take the new racer licensing school again! ;D ;)

CCS needs a starting point to determine when they bump a rider from amateur to expert.  That starting point is 750 points.  If you petition to stay amateur, you better have a good reason, one of those reasons may be your performance index.  If you performance index is low, you have a better chance of staying amateur, if it's high, less of a chance.

No because then you would have won a class championship and would be bumped for that.
